White and Stones is the best CB partnership England have

If he doesn’t want to be picked then fair enough but as soon as he does I’d have him straight into the squad

I can’t believe 7 people think ben white is better than Kyle Walker, that’s the real story here. I mean come on, have you ever watched a game in your life? 😂🤦‍♂️
I don't, but my vote makes it look like I do. Not a very well designed poll to be perfectly honest.

We have absolutely no idea what is going on in the lad’s head, so I don’t think anyone should be judging / vilifying him
I’ve seen him branded scum and a traitor so far and that’s just on FMTTM where we are generally a reasonable bunch. God knows what abuse he must be getting on social media etc.

As ever it’s difficult to really comment without the full facts. However, what we do know is Southgate has done a brilliant job in creating an environment where players feel valued and that they can contribute. England means something again.

White seems to be the only player with an issue with it. That is more on him and he needs to get over his sense of self importance.

If he wants to play CB for his country then he has to play CB week in, week out, I can't remember the last time he played CB for arsenal to be honest.

I think at the start of the season they had white and saliba at the back with Gabriel on the bench, but they quickly switched white back to RB

I don’t even see White as a genuine centre back now. He’s probably competing with Joe Gomez for the utility role if anything

If there is one position we are blessed as a nation it is RB. Walker, TAA, James, Trippier all streets ahead of him and do not present any of the attitude or disruption he obviously brings. Don’t even look at him for any position in the future.
I think Joe Gomez is incredibly overrated but I would rather play him

England don’t need white anyway.

I hear RVDB is changing his name to Rob Burton, will be nationalised and play for England at the European Championship.

Sorted.

It's a shame as he can play RB, CB and even in midfield so players like that are good in international squads.

On the flip side - balls to him.

He's been great for Arsenal this season, so obviously a top player, but doesn't like the current england environment. That's his decision and you've got to respect it. Doesn't devalue his worth as a player or what he could offer England if he changes his mind.

Or changes his attitude

Why have you got to respect it?

I would say it does devalue what he could offer to England.

He's not willing to put the effort in unless he's getting guaranteed gametime, so it raises major question marks about his attitude and suitability to play for England.

He's turning down call-ups in the prime of his career with England on the cusp of a major international tournament.
If you can't rely on him now, when can you?

There's been loads of top players that have had to work the way into the side. Imagine if Foden had spat his dummy out because he wasn't getting used as much as what he could have been.

I don't have a clue what he is like as a player, I don't watch Arsenal or most premier league football and as much as I like Southgate as the England manager I am not really bothered specifically about them, but I do like intl football. Southgate answered a question about him, and was too honest. BW has the right to privacy, being to honest in football circles can lead to abuse from fans , verbally and physical, saying that BW would have been better off keeping quiet.

If Southgate is asked why he didn’t select an inform White, why should he lie to protect the player’s privacy?

Because lots of things happen in football that we get to never hear or learn about and there is a very good reason, as I said above it can lead to verbal and physical assaults, some supporters take some things too personally, so my question to you, Is why do you need to know?
