Club is on its ****

A fully fit squad we get near or in the playoffs but would need amazing luck to get through them. Our is miles away from quality of last season and teams in the playoffs this year will be lots better. Last year we were probably the best team in the playoffs. We signed lots of players this season and only 3 have come off dieing rvb and rogers. The loans this year haven't been as good which is more down to cost than bad luck.

I appreciate that people want to see us sign a striker and to have more bite up front, but we really need to sort out the defence. Last time we went up was based on us being really solid at the back.

They should have had 4 or 5 today. The second goal was absolutely criminal and was against the run of play.

I fell asleep listening to the radio and missed most of the second half. Were we as awful as we were in the first?

We play 1 up front. 2 players for every position. Lath or Coburn… plus Forss if needed. We can’t carry 3 or 4 players for every position on the off chance we get a mental amount of injuries. We’d have a first team squad of 35.

Probably the same people who say we should sign “quality not quantity” then moan about results when we have injuries.

Boro fans 😅😅

3 or 4 for every position isnt needed but for number 9 i think it is. seemingly 3 left backs is only necessary if they are all dog turd

We aren’t ever going to carry 3 out and out number 9s in the squad. Unless you want one of them to be really ****. That’s just the way it is, sorry.

Of course it is we need at least 3. Coburn should be 3 or 4 choice we needed at least one more with latte.

That'd make sense , two players for every position.. who've experience and like playing there.
Emergency means you gotta adjust, but you'd think rarely .

Apart from we're told ' formations don't matter " and ' positions are interchangeable in the front four '

For one piece up front you need two players for each game because we will almost always make a substitute for that position. Means 1 injury and you're playing someone out of position.

Most other positions are covered by players being able to play multiple positions. Greenwood, Azaz, McGree etc can play any of the 3 behind the striker so you don't need 6+ players for those positions. Same with those that cover full back and centre back. Striker is a specialist position and should only really be played by players that can do it.

Like when your 2 centre forwards are both injured, and your 3rd option for centre forward has to play RW because your RW is also out injured at the same time.

I defo think our injuries this season are a rarity.

Lath and especially Coburn certainly aren’t quality, especially for a side aiming for promotion. We knew in January Coburn probably won’t play many games this season and Lath was missing for weeks leaving us with no striker for a very long period, but still didn’t sign anyone

I think we need to aim to make 3 or 4 quality signings in the summer. Need to be looking at bringing in a quality RB, LB, DM and ST. Then one or two additions to that, but otherwise let's keep the bulk of the squad and spend the money on a bit of much needed quality.

If we focus heavily on bringing in the right players for those 4 positions, then hopefully we will be able to identify and sign the right players.

We've taken cheap punts on several players and the reality is some of them are just not good enough to be starting for a club with aspirations to get promoted.
