Exactly the point I was making! Someone said there's only 3/4 teams who have issued their season ticket prices for next season, Sheff Wed and Norwich have been mentioned. What is the point in comparing next seasons prices for us against the current season of other clubs? Makes little sense.
good point, and with inflation spiralling since they all announced last seasons ST prices, you can guarantee most will rise. There will be the odd outlier, but I'd guess 50% will rise significantly, and 40% will rise proportionately, with 10% staying still and taking the inflationary hit on behalf of the fans.

The years fly by and since '94 I doubt there's been many years that he hasn't pumped a few million into the club. Matched by the calls for him to go by a vocal "I want it NOW" minority. And matched several times over by fans of other clubs who wished they had a Steve Gibson.

If people can't afford it they won't do it but I wonder how many match, as disposable income, the % that Gibson pumps in year after year after year.

Thankfully, for me anyway, he takes no notice of those that shout for him to be out.
If he did he'd be long gone.
People don’t want gibson out. Quite the opposite. They do want him to listen and make some difficult decisions about the club going forward. They want pricing at all levels and communication reviewed.

Sheff Wed - Froze
Norwich - 1% raise

Not sure who the other clubs are

People get into debt all the time, no one saying they should but it’s the reality

My dad got into debt for me and my brother in the late 90’s. As a father myself I can understand why.

Pressure to keep a season ticket due riverside selling and final after final

People in the real world are not living in your idyllic state or view the world as you do
I think you need to be a realist about it especially in the current climate.

If you bought your season ticket for the current season using the PL package then Coventry were offering a price freeze for 5 years. Unless they got promoted to the PL which you'd get a PL season ticket for free for the first season.

Is it?? I’d say kids have more access to watching Boro than I did as a kid

You can watch every Boro match live on the dodgy streams, or if you’re not criminally inclined you can listen to the commentary and watch the highlights on your phone about 5 mins after the match has finished.
You're showing your age here.

Out of my 8 year old lads class (not in Teesside) out of the roughly 15 kids who like football. There's roughly 4 Liverpool, 4 Man City and 4 Spurs fans. There's only my lad and another kid who supports Wigan and both because they go to 8-10 games per season.

I know some of those dads and they are Burnley, Norwich, Leicester, Plymouth, QPR fans and their kids are following SPURS or City ffs. If kids aren't going to see a team play then they'll choose the so called glory teams (no idea why they chose spurs) That's how the game is marketed now.

My poor lad came to the Boro with me and loves it. He saw us beat UTD at Old Trafford and then saw us get battered at Chelsea with many inbetween. The bond built by actually attending games is a different level. We have to ensure we're getting those fans in for the future. Can't be complacent

Everyone has different circumstances and makes different sacrifices to be able to support their team.
Steve Gibson has ploughed millions and millions of pounds into our club over the last 40 years and for that I am eternally grateful, im not a fanboy by any means and he has made many many mistakes along the way but does anyone realistically think that he wouldn't be a massively wealthier man if it wasn't for his involvement with Middlesbrough football club.
Right now we have one of the best young managers in the country, we finally appear to be getting things right on the recruitment side of things and we have a young promising playing squad with plenty of potential, if Steve Gibson decided to walk away all of that would be under threat.
