* The Unofficial "Official" Boro v Coventry City Match - Day Thread *

Just what I was thinking - and that's happened
Will he make 5 substitutions?
Would think defeat to today and Wednesday would be difficult for Wilder to survive
I’m thinking Giles/ Jones at HT and chuba and mcgree on 60 mins, or maybe all that delayed by 5/10 mins just as extra time to try and tire them.

Wow we are really poor... he has to change it at half time surely.. the line up didn't fill me with confidence... strange strange choices made..

What date was Wilder first linked with the Burnley job?
(allegedly - never proven, never quashed)
Does this correlate to our terrible run of form by any chance?

Would you give £30m to spend to a man that might be leaving?
A man that wasted a lot more than that on misfiring forwards in his last job?

Remember, Gibson, like us had to sit and watch Assombolonga pick up £50k per week for 4 years and go for nowt

Assombalonga scored 45 goals for us.

If I go on Wednesday, it will cost me £20 for a taxi home. I'm now considering not going.

I've never felt less interested or optimistic watching this squad and tactics.. It's become painfully predictable this season..

Feel positive and optimistic like THIS is the game to get our season going / concede early / spend 40 - 70 mins with frustrating long balls and sketchy defending / score / concede to draw or lose - Wilder rolls out stats to mask the clear issues and fact these players aint doing it for him .. REPEAT..

But week after week it's clearly not working and we just don't have the fight and desire you'd expect from a squad 'tipped for promotion'..

Everyone looks knackered / we have a midfield bereft of ideas / a defence who look really shaky / Strikers who are not putting the ball in the net or getting service!

After Cardiff I didn't think we could get any worse but today, already it's the same old story!

At this stage I'd rather Wilder just walked and accepted it didn't work (it's not all his fault the club clearly hasn't backed him and reinvested the spoils wisely on any 'marquee signings')... They've got the season ticket sales boosted by essentially sprouting shoite as per.. and now we'll struggle to finish mid table and the exercise will be repeated.

Very depressing - Rather someone with less of a chip on their shoulder about their managerial history came in and got the squad re-energised and at least we could then maybe boost our numbers in Jan window and give a push towards playoffs a go!

Even if we win today I just can't see Wilder being the solution to the cyclic problem at our club!
