Matt Clarke

It's a football transfer you balloon. Have some Horlicks and you'll sleep.
I rest my case, enjoy your laughter at how others may feel.

It may only be a transfer to you, but to some Boro fans it is maybe a way of life. Respecting the feelings of others may not be a thing for some Billingham fans, who are you to judge how another human being feels about their club. By all means disagree, but enjoying others so called panic as you call it isn’t a good look in my view anyway.

And it was just a simple question. Panic nowhere in sight.

Bit OTT

He's getting announced tomorrow, don't worry.
I‘m not at all worried TeaCider. I said on here the other day that it was going to happen.
I‘m disappointed that the questions asked on here often don’t result in a proper answer.

Why don’t you ignore me CTC and SuperWhatever because that’s what I’m doing to you.
I think you've got the wrong end of the stick with those two Ravs. Neither are having a go at you

With regard to your original question, there will obviously be a point in the sale when it is final and can't be gazumped. Before that point then it can still happen.
What that point is and whether we have reached it yet I dunno.
Integrity and trust will still have a part to play before that point. A bit like buying a house I suppose.

Thanks Rofesleg.
One would think though that once player terms have been agreed and medicals passed, as has been reported with this one, that “point“ has indeed been reached. If there is no truth to those reports, then of course we don’t know where we are.

I imagine signing of contracts will be key.
I remember either reading about, or watching a documentary about football contracts and some of the issues which delayed completion seemed ridiculously petty.
Discussions involving player, chairman, manager, agent, solicitors are never straightforward I imagine.
Was it the Sunderland Netflix doc?

And that's exactly how it is. We don't know, despite all the flannel, until the contract is signed.

I’ll check that doc out. I think the contract between the clubs has been signed conditionally and it’s now just a matter of Boro and player signing their contract and Boro waiving their conditions with Brighton in order to firm up and close. And register it all with the league of course.

Does anyone remember this guy? Matt Clarke? We once had a bid accepted, and he passed a medical. Wonder whatever became of him? Where did he end up going?
