Favourite Scottish Boro Player

Just been away in Scotland and while I was there we had the tragic death of Dave Shearer.
It got me thinking about great Boro Scots over the years - Souness and Murdoch from Charlton Champions, Willie Whigham attracted several coach loads to from north of the border to watch his debut. Bernie Slaven played for Ireland but penned a "come and get me" letter to all the English clubs before becoming a Teesside legend. There was Barry Robson scorer of a Boxing Day blaster, from the Strachan "select." Local lad James Morrison of course went on to gather many Scotland caps.
But who was your favourite?

Souness (who else) Hendrie and Hamilton , Mc Andrew as well ... the other end we have Bobby Thomson - recommended by Jock Stein to Bobby Murdoch, and Colin Ross

From the Riverside era, it has to be one of two:
Barry Robson. The only decent player among the crap brought in by Strachan. He made things happen and scored a few cracking goals. Also seemed passionate and posative about the club. I do wonder what he made of his fellow Scots who frankly stunk the place out.

James Morrison. Why the hell did we sell him? He was just maturing into very good midfielder when we inexplicably got rid.

John Hendrie, my first proper Boro hero. I liked Willie Falconer too, because I thought he had a cool name. Special mention for Willo Flood, who must have won a Red Letter Day opportunity to be a professional footballer, despite being a poorly young boy.

It's an easy 3 for me

John Hendrie
Gary Hamilton
Barry Robson

Regarding James Morrison i think there's a big difference between "eligible to play for Scotland" and "Scottish".

I'm too young to have seen Souness but from what I've seen on video he looked outstanding.
Got to be Slaven for me, Hendrie close second but a mention for Barry Robson who was a bright spark at a very grim time for Boro.
