Wilder promising big overhaul - some development on Monday

Everyone is for sale at the right price. If an acceptable bid comes in then great. But no way should a player like McNair just be ‘shipped out’ a la Hernandez and Uche. 10 million at least for me. Experienced international.

Well the fact he’s not played the last 2 means I think he’s one of them. No payero in squad today too maybe means he’s off
I tend to agree on bola and McNair shown the door but also watmore possibly ?
Taylor too
Fischer will return but he’s just an average joe….so may go as well 👍

Peltier never let the team down I thought he was solid back up and he may keep him around, even though he could get a move elsewhere, McNair needs to stay don't understand the negativity regarding him however may be sold to finance other incomings, i know Payero is getting sold does not fit in with the attitude over ability quote from Wilder today and he does not rate him. There will be around 7 or 8 shown the exit door come Monday and there will be players he may want to keep but will sell if the right offers come in, Tav Spense Fry Paddy. Lumley Daniels Bola Hall Fisher Payero Siliki Ameobi Akpom and the 3 strikers on loan will be shown the door or contracts paid up. Big recruitment drive imminent

If I was trying to read into those comments I'd think that our drop in form and the attitude issues are linked.
When Wilder first came in we were busting a gut and playing at a high tempo. No doubt it took a lot out of a few and it is maybe the unwillingness of some players to maintain those levels when things aren't going so well.
Brick walls and that.

can see Bola, Paddy, Payero maybe Crooks all off ...deffo keepers, and Spence ....Howson offered desiery 1 year as per George .... Hope Tav stays contract finished next summer and signs new one if not he will be off as well

Even without selling anyone, we've got 8 out of contract or here on loan.

Balogun, Connolly, Sporar, Lea Siliki, Peltier, Howson, Taylor and Bamba.

None of the loanees will be back, and I'm expecting Peltier to be offered an extension at the same time as Howson, but that still leaves 6 players that need replacing.

Then we've got the likes of Akpom, Ikpeazu and Coulson coming back from loan and I'm expecting the club will try to sell them all.

Then there's players here under contract right now that we'll probably try to move on.

There's a lot to do.

The side next season will look very different, I think. We're probably looking at a starting 11 and subs bench of:

GK: New signing
RWB: Jones
RCB: McNair
CB: Fry
LCB: New singing
LWB: New signing
RCM: Crooks
CM: Howson
LCM: McGree
ST: New signing
ST: New signing

Bench:
Daniels
Dijksteel
Backup Defender
Payero
Backup versatile player
Watmore
Backup striker

We may keep Bamba and Peltier as they are good to have around the club. I would hope we'd keep Tav around but with so many players to sign, the fee he'd command would likely make him the best player to move on, especially as we don't need to sign a first team player to replace him. Potentially Fisher may remain as a backup wing back. Dijksteel may be first choice RCB and McNair may move on. Potentially Howson may drop to the bench as a rotation option and we might sign a new CM.

Either way, we're looking at at least 5 new players in the starting line up alone. That's before we look at the amount of squad players we'll need to bring in. At least one of those will need to be a centre back, even if Bamba and Peltier stay as we won't want to rely on them like we have this season, especially not Bamba as he isn't capable of playing multiple games a week anymore.

I'm excited for next season, but Wilder really needs to get his signings spot on this summer. We really can't afford to be looking at an overhaul again this time next year. I do think that some of Wilder's comments were placing the blame for our early season form on some of the players rather than the previous manager. And I think he's right to say that, I believed the players simply weren't good enough when Warnock left and that the club were unfair on him but we clearly have a lot of good players who seem to pick and choose when to perform. Next season, hopefully, we'll have a side who knuckle down and perform every single game.

McNair will be on his way out as well. Utterly brainless at 3-1 down to handball on the line to be banned next season.

Possbibly, and that was really stupid. I don't know if we'd move him on unless we got a stupid bid though. If we move him on then I'd expect Dijksteel to stay RCB and we'd need another backup defender. Which wouldn't be too bad.

I reckon Jones, McNair and Fry are gone based on his BBC tees interview. Massive overhaul, going to look like a totally different team come August.

Interesting that he sounded reasonably advanced in bringing players in as well. That's a somewhat different task if you're prepping for Championship vs PL, which suggests he knew fine well we weren't going up, although I guess no reason why they wouldn't be working on multiple lists at the same time...
