I agree with some of this, but a lot of it is nothing more than opinion. As fans We are our own worst enemy Stop defending the indefensible. Loyalty doesn’t make you a super fan. Real supporters are realistic and describe what’s in front of them.
The keeper situation has been completely mismanaged. A decent stopper would see us comfortably top six. Blame who you like for this.
Jones isn’t the Messiah - he had a good spell but has been anonymous for some time now and his inexperience is clear to see - people on here built him up far too quickly - he isn’t as good as you believe and he is way behind Spence at this time. Not popular but true.
No EPL team is coming in for Tav. He is a bang average Champo player who’s biggest fan is himself. On here daft lads seen him as a 15 / 20 million player - he isn’t. Running around and wasting dead ball situations doesn’t make you a superstar.
We completely blew the January window. Wilder wanted Keinan Davis - he got Connelly and Balogan.who is to blame for that? We are struggling because we can’t score. Wilder blames the midfield - we need blokes who take chances - our strikers don’t.
I was frustrated but now I’m angry - we should be top six - a decent striker and we would be. Play Payero for the last 3. Drop the ‘undropable’ like Tav and Jones and become solid - it’s worked for Luton, Huddersfield, Sheff Utd. We blew a great opportunity this season and someone needs to be held to account
The keeper situation HAS done my head in tbh, Lumley was given far too many games to bungle on IMHO.
No player is "The Messiah" I believe. But what Jones is is the first player since Adama who can get me out of my seat most times he gets the ball as I believe in his natural ability and his habit of creating that much. So his form has drifted yes, it happens to EVERY player.
I partly agree with the Tav point. No, it's not unfeasible that a Prem club comes in for Tav, but at the moment it's unlikely as he's not the finished product at all. That would suit me just fine as I want us to hang on to him.
Balogun in my mind has shown signs of why we acquired him. Connelly no, sadly.
It's worked for Hudds and Luton probably. Sheff Utd is yet to be decided.
I'd give Payero a decent amount as a sub next game, ie 35 mins minimum, with a view to starting him in the games thereafter.
Any one of a number of small changes would result in us being almost certain if not already certain of being in the playoffs already. The strikers aren't the main one though for me as others can score; it's the questionable bloke who's been in goal for most of the season.
Indeed if we were to sort that AND the striker position it's more likely we'd currently be in the autos.
