i don't mean lets make them take 1st pick (as a franchise model) but i kind of do, FFP should hamstring way more than it doesWatching the way Man City are taking Southampton to the cleaners and thinking of how Chelsea beat us without breaking into a sweat, and when you think of the gulf between the top 3 or 4 clubs...6 at a stretch...and the rest, you wonder what the point is. The same clubs win the cups 90% of the time. They all have massive financial resources, multiple times what the rest do, and a lot of them are funded by dodgy regimes or companies. Screw them, the game is ruined. Let them break away and have their European or World Super League for the glory fans from every corner of the globe. Leave the traditional competitions to the real clubs owned by real chairmen and fans.
Yes, I'm bitter...
Not quite sure the point you are trying to make with that lengthy list. There are quite a few more if you go back to 1870s. Most of those you list don’t win titles anymore - just the money clubs these days. Even the League Cup is dominated by the top 4 despite some people arguing a few years ago that the top clubs aren’t interested in it. Since we won it I think only Birmingham and Swansea have won it outside the usual suspects in the last 18 finals.Has it ever been any different? I'm not sure how many professional clubs there are but there are not many who have won a competition and even less to have won a top league title. From my immediate thoughts and without searching:
Man United
Liverpool
Arsenal
Aston Villa
Chelsea
Man City
Sunderland
Newcastle
Wolves
West Brom
Spurs
Blackburn
Leicester
Nottingham Forest
Derby
Preston
Burnley
Huddersfield
There's probably a few more to add to that list. I reckon during the title winning seasons each of those sides were pretty dominant.
The point is there's always been a few clubs capable of dominating. Certainly in my lifetime. Liverpool in the 80's, Man United in the 90's and 00's with Arsenal managing the challenge at various times. Not quite sure the point you are trying to make with that lengthy list. It's all similar to the "I don't care about England" threads on here at various times over the years too. It wouldn't' surprise me if someone puts one up complaining about International Football this week.It seems like a badge of honour to proclaim no interest on the Premier League. I'm not interested but only because Boro aren't there. In the same way I've only ever been interested in Div.3 once - 86/87.
That will all change if we get promoted again (or relegated).
What is the point of entering a competition that you can NEVER win? That's not a true competition it's "Sports Entertainment".The thing is that if you remove them from the league then the league loses its prestige. The winner of the championship doesn't currently get any real kudos and that is how the winner of the Premier League would be thought of if you took the super teams out.

Yes the PL would be diminished by the absence of the "Big" four, five or six. But you would have a competition that might be something that any team in it might win. All those teams (like us) who have managed to scrape a sixth or seventh place finish might win it. Much more like the old Division One. Especially if the competition was fairer according to the changes I suggested earlier.
Small point of order but 8 teams have won in the last 25 years, Portsmouth, Wigan and Leicester in addition to Liverpool, Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal. In the 70s 9 different teams won the fa cup out of the 10 finals , in the last 25 years the same 7 clubs have won every final
I believe Boro's figures are genuine. Why would anyone have even the slightest doubt that they are not accurate? So you believe some of the dodgy self sponsorship to fiddle figures that goes on is genuine then ....they are as bent as Mel Was
Ah yes I missed Portsmouth, probably because that should have been oursSmall point of order but 8 teams have won in the last 25 years, Portsmouth, Wigan and Leicester in addition to Liverpool, Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal.
