Always used to have this with sunday dinner when I was a young un. Does anyone still have it?, or has it slipped away into the mists of time?

My grandmother used to serve a large yorkshire pudding as a starter before sunday dinner and we'd have this with it (and gravy). A taste sensation. I was talking about it to my wife the other day but couldn't recall the exact ingredients. Her's didn't have tomato, onion perhaps and something like shredded cabbage maybe

Same here, but it’s lettuce, not cabbage, with onion and mint in vinegar. Delicious!

Never heard of that, interesting. I’ve an old book of Yorkshire recipes and there’s a Redcar cake in it. I’ll try to post it later but I’ve not met anyone who has heard of it

I still make it if we are having lamb!

lettuce, spring onions, mint and vinegar. Beautiful with yorkshires and gravy

Not heard of Yorkshire salad, but was thinking prior to the 1990s and the Parmo what would have been classed as our local dish?.

Just came across this description while googling it -
