Violence returning to football - sickening

No SmallTown, the sequence is as follows….

Football related topic….someone inserts over the top political points that aren’t relevant ….other members disagree with constant politicising of every debate…..ask said persons to change this approach as it is ruining the board…..said person too blindsided by their own beliefs tbat they don’t change ( repeat ad nauseum)

Sure discuss politics, ideally on a separate section, but every subject does not need to have the same arguments shoehorned in.
It does if they are relevant. I get the feeling those that complain the most about the political discussions are those who are uncomfortable with the way their political leanings are damaging the country. So they would rather ignore the issues

Considering you voted Tory, that is some front you have.

I don’t disagree with BoroMart political stance, I strongly disagree with many threads being used to voice them. It’s a fairly simple point.

Hooligans and the whole culture is glamorised by the amount of movies and TV shows dedicated to them - They certainly don't put people off!!

Most of them its just the fashion and being safe behind a line of police. What we are seeing now is fans who have been starved of attending games for a long period getting over excited and over indulging resulting in these incidents.

If you look, most seasons we have lots of incidents. Difference is they tend to be away from the football grounds and these are even sometimes dismissed as not football related - a couple of seasons ago some Boro lads had bother in Hull on the Saturday evening after a game. No link to the match though apparently. This season, incidents have been in or around stadiums.

In Europe its a different ball game. These ultra groups recruit fighters, they hold competitions to select the best fighters, they don't drink, they train. The Police are on the pay roll and they hold significant power within the club. If English clubs did anything close to what happens in Italy, can you imagine the fall out when we react the way we do when Dave and his mates from Burnley throw a few chairs. Dangerously, European sides still see England as the creators and see us as a measure they need to beat to earn their stripes. They seem to forget those from the British disease days are in their 60s and beyond now.

This guy was middle class, he had a detached house, nice family, nice car and a good job with an estate agent. He was also a hardcore football hooligan and leader of the firm. Let that sink in.

I was quite surprised to see the matches scheduled as they were yesterday from the Met's point of view. There's a bit of history between West Ham and Manu and to have a London derby match just up the road shortly afterwards would take some policing. I understand that the European fixtures necessitated it but that was a known factor surely.

I guess it makes you uncomfortable. That's fine. I would be too. Doesn't mean we should stop the freedom of speech of others

No, it doesn’t make me uncomfortable but it is very repetitive and becomes tedious.

Are you comfortable with yourself, and who you voted for, given your levels of hypocrisy?

No levels of hypocrisy here. Except from yourself of course.

You whine about repetitive and tedious behaviour. Then you try and have a go at me on an issue that I have explained and has been discussed a million times. So yes, I'm completely comfortable with where I'm at.

If you're upset that brexit comes up in a subject I would suggest it's through embarrassment. You know you were lied too but you're too embarrassed to admit so you must continue to support brexit to hide said embarrassment.

Hence why you'd rather we ignored it and the damage it is doing

I’ll keep it brief and factual as the one thing you are correct on it’s becoming tedious.

Ive never offered an opinion in Brexit on here, not once. I try to keep out of political discussions as attracts people like you.

Wheras you constantly go on about Brexit while you voted for the party that facilitated it. Yet you suggested others should be embarrassed by their actions ( that is why I mentioned your Tory voting behaviour). Truly hypocritical and unreasonable behaviour.

While it seems hooliganism may be creeping back in it may be stopped before it starts. I know that sounds a bit contradictory but I believe most genuine fans will not tolerate it again.

On Saturday a group of about 7 very loud and provocative young Blackpool fans walked to the drinking/ music area outside the stadium. They clearly felt comfortable doing that. That behaviour would have been suicidal in the 80s and 90s at Awesome Park with the Frontline reputation and hooliganism in general.

Most fans ignored their behaviour and that was the correct response. Some police followed them to show they were being observed. Silly immature young lads who will one day grow up.

It's not hypocritical though is it? Not if you took time to read any of the thousands of times its been mentioned before. You are only seeing what you want to see. To my hypocrisy is complaining about tedious and repetitive posts and then addressing someone with a tedious and repetitive post.

That there is the problem.......
Exactly. The hypocrisy of calling a subject repetitve and tedious and then trying to have a go at me with a subject that is repetitive and tedious. It's an easy "out" for people like @TRANSIT-TRIPPER to ignore any criticism or any argument by just attacking my voting record. I totally get why anyone who was too embarrassed to admit who they really are would attack me instead of having to answer any questions themselves. It would be an almost valid escape too, if there wasn't so many posts from me explaining things that people like him just ignore because they don't allow him to use that get out. I'll just keep pulling him up on it until he understands

It was actually a criticism of you for bringing Brexit into threads 'thousands of times'
