I read about folks wanting Southgate replaced in the group stages with Eddie Howe!!
Unbeaten in the Euros three clean sheets and folks were seriously talking about getting rid of Southgate.. sacking off the Euros and starting again from scratch.

Utter, utter madness!!

I can only think that lockdown has sent a few people round the bend.

Both did well at times, I felt Phillips went out of the game a bit more after his booking as there's more of a chance of a red with the way he plays. Rice grew into the game after a pretty poor opening twenty minutes, and towards the end was pushing up much higher and driving out of midfield.

I hope that Southgate carries on doing it his way - its working. I remember 1990 as one of the most successful English teams but we only beat one team in 90 mins and that was Egypt 1-0. So carry on Sir Gareth it will be if we win it, as all politicians will be desperate to be associated, see rugby and cricket.
