Over 20 Get your jab here

Got the AstraZeneca yesterday, had to go to Washington's Nightingale Hospital. Very well organised, only took ten minutes.
Bit of a headache this morning but feel fine now.

Went down to the new Riverside vaccination centre this morning - presently 500 capacity daily from one pod - a mobile centre in East Stand car park where multiple people can be vaccinated at the same time, partitioned and then move through in a one way system to a socially distanced waiting area where you stay for 15 mins before being able to walk back to your car.
This will move to 1000 per day capacity once Pod 2 is ready, it is already there and signed etc.
Today Bernie Slaven, Steve Vickers, Gary Pallister, Craig Hignett, Neil Bausor, Leo Percovic and Neil Maddison were receiving their first injection. There was media invited down to cover this as a launch which will hopefully quickly see thousands more Teessiders vaccinated.
Did Assombalonga miss his ?

Anyone else struggling with the website and booking system?

half the time it says the nearest centre is Leeds or Washington, then when the Riverside or Darlo arena appears and give you a date then a time to pick, it bombs out saying there are not appointments available for the time you have selected.

I know it must be a busy site, but it feels like amateur hour.
I was getting out of town areas when I put Middlesbrough or Redcar in the area. When I put my home post code I was issued local venues.

worth a try.

I wondered if it was an IT thing at my end, so have tried using Chrome, Firefox and Edge, but no difference. I found that refreshing multiple times brought up a new list every time. But even when it said a particular centre had availability on a given date, as soon as I selected a time it suggested, I got the message that no times are available and to try another centre.

I just kept on trying and eventually have booked a slot at the Darlo Arena next week and in June.

I can see why some people are trying a couple of times and then sacking it off.

Its a strange system im currently staying with my partner in knaresborough, when i put my partner's knaresborough postcode in it offered me Leeds and York, but when i put my boro postcode in it offered me Knaresborough!!

So yesterdays jab wiped me out today - I mean completely - headache from hell (probably seemed worse because I don't suffer from them at all) I spent half the night awake, temperature through the roof and chills - but oddly not sweaty...Aching from head to foot, in fact it felt like any recent injuries were sought out and brought back to play, the strangest of feelings, even my teeth seemed to be at odds with my mouth.

I slept till 12, got up, piece of toast, tea, about an hour wandering round, watched some TV and then total fatigue again. Back to bed and slept for 2 hours, back up, bite to eat, just cereal and repeated the same again - bed at 5 till 7.

This time I do feel a bit more like myself I have to say, energy seems to be up and I can focus better. The experience made me feel very old and vulnerable today - man vs virus - thank god our scientists are on the ball. If this is just a taster then the real thing must be godamn hell.

Time to sleep again methinks!

Had my 1st AstraZeneca jab earlier today, I've been tip top since, went for a walk, had tea and all good...since around 19:30 I've noticed my limbs feel a bit heavy, I'm colder than normal and I have a little buzz in my head.

Temperature is normal using the electronic ear probe thermometer - but definitely seems to be provoking a response.

Just shows how awful getting Covid would have been for you instead of the vaccine. That is the way I look at it.

Try giving your GP a ring. I got an appt at GP surgery on the 15th rather than the 26th via the website. Woodbridge Surgery in Ingleby were vaccinating last week.

Had the astrazeneca jab yesterday, woke up this morning feverish, aching muscles, headache, generally flu symptoms, which is mentioned on the leaflet issued

I'm never poorly, I can count about 4 times in my life that I've had the flu (bed ridden)
Just feel wrecked

Jeez that sounds bad, I have my jab tomorrow evening at the Riverside, I am hoping having had COVID it won’t be too bad.
Has anyone been to the Riverside yet?? Wondering what the setup is, do you park in the main car park where the ticket office is and walk round???

I know 3 friends now in their 40s who have been given a date for their jab , no logical reason . Are we now below 55? Tried booking today on nhs website (chancing it to be honest as late 40s) and as expected couldn’t . Seems a bit random that they have [obvs trying not to let it wind me up] 😀

Sounds similar to me. Just found out one of my wife's best mates also had jab on Sunday. She's been the same but additionally has had the trots & some sickness. Seemingly recovering today.

Also spoke to our window cleaner earlier who had his 3 weeks back & had to take 4 days off afterwards.

Very strange how it affects different folk. I'd not change my mind though, needed doing & is done.

I'm never poorly, one week sickness in 20 odd years, this has hammered me, struggled at work today, still have a banging headache, aching joints & feverish & had my jab yesterday morning at half 8

Can I ask how old you are?

Maybe they may have health condition underlying? 16-64 years old can get their vaccine now then people in their 40s would be next after that health condition underlying category. Hope this helps. 👍
