Assombalonga going?

I would be delighted to get his £35,000 a week off the books. At this stage, letting him leave on a free would represent good business. I fear we would have to pay him off, however.

Famara Diedhiou, who can’t get a game before Chris Martin and has started 4 times for Bristol City this season.
Can’t wait

Clearly more to it than that, and you know it.
Not least that he's out of contact and has had Covid.

He was their player of the season last year, and he has outscored the person who is starting ahead of him, despite starting far, far fewer games.

Why would posters know the in’s and out’s of all the available forwards, that’s not their job, it doesn’t mean they can’t express an opinion on moving an existing forward on tho

Its all about how much money he cost and how much he earns WITH ALL OF YOU ISN'T IT ????
Its not about the football !

Why would having had covid influence the signing, and even if we sign him why would a swap for Britt be a definite?
We haven't got lots of strikers
Have Bristol got the money to pay what Britt is on instead of what he is on?
Why would Brittt take the move unless they offer him a long contract AND he wants to go there?
Warnock has made him captain and says he wants to stay
Obviously I don't know what's happening with transfers any more than anyone else, just putting a few reasons why it might not be the racing certainty some people are desperate for
As I often say I'm relaxed about anyone leaving or staying from the current squad

It would appear Bristol City fans would be up for it.
Quote " IF we loose Famara Diedhiou getting Assombalonga would softer the blow"

The two are related. If it was Messi I'd keep him. He's a Championship journeyman with a contract on too-high wages. We could easily replace him for much less money.

His record seems on par with britts but it’s maybe questionable weather wel get more than just goals out Of Britt under warnock

For me, the transfer fee we paid is irrelevant in judging a player, but relevant in judging a signing. The difference is the first is a judgment on the player, the second is a judgement on the recruitment team.

I never hold a fee against a player (or in his favour if he's cheap). Neither changes how good they are on the pitch, and that is all that matters.

Wages are important in deciding what we do in future though: they represent ongoing expenditure, unlike a transfer fee which I consider money gone the day the contract is signed.

Good post although it's obvious most on this thread are judging Britt by his transfer fee and not by his abilities....

We could easily replace him for much less money.... WRONG !
He's out of contract in the Summer so the wages he's earned are irrelevant...

If these statistics are correct, it appears Britt's record in the Championship is better than I thought: 1 goal every 186 minutes; therefore, Britt is more or less a 1 in 2 man if you go by minutes played but he is certainly on a downward trajectory at the moment.
