Leaving England

Planning 6 months here, 6 months Thailand. Looking at this in the next year. Rent our house out here for 6 months and rent in Thailand. Have family there so should work well.
I've never been to Thailand but everyone I know who has gone swear by it.

Whereabouts?

Looking at Hua Hin. About 2 hours from Bangkok. Ideally looking to get a 3 bedroom place with a pool around £800-£850 a month. Should get £1400 for our place so virtually live off this without touching any capital.

Been staying in Cha Am, just up from Hua Hin ,a month a year for a few years...love it there but definitely couldnt live there because unlike Andrew, i sweat like a pig.and i can take the heat for so long then back to the seasons to cool off 😊

You, you do realise how pathetic it is to stalk someone on a message board?

You actually thought you were "picking on" someone. I assume, though it's difficult to tell that your'e a grown man? Yet you act like a pathetic school child.

Still a great example of how dumb you are, complaining about me popping up on every thread. Two things we can learn from that: You haven't quite worked out how message boards work, and 2: you're too stupid to realise I actually started the thread!

Still at least there is a block function on here so I don't have to see the trash from my stalkers. Hopefully you'll grow up or get the therapy you need someday.
Maybe ask yourself why you have so many 'stalkers'

Not sure I could stomach UK weather in the winter when I retire (10 years away) so plan is to spend March to October here then spend November to February somewhere warmer, although wouldn’t want to be tied to a single place.

Loads of variables to think about though, such as where our son ends up living, savings/investments value, health, climate change etc etc....

I imagine, like anyone else, they will have a pension? What do you mean by tax situation?
At the moment there is a reciprocal tax agreement with EU states. Will that remain the case?
Will those with a pension be taxed twice on their income?
What will happen to property owned by UK Nationals in EU states..... will it be taxed differently?
But the main issue to consider is the provision of expensive health care.

Interesting mm

Not so boring now. Shops open on Saturday mornings, most right through Saturday and some open Sundays too. But, and its a big but, Kiwi's love and cherish their leisure time, be it boating, yachting, fishing, biking etc. The weekend is far more important than the week.

Shops opening on Sunday. Sounds like the place is going to the dogs if it's moving in that direction.

The healthcare issue will be the same in this country, one presumes when they abolish the NHS.

Why would a pension be taxed twice. Surely if you emigrate you transfer your finances too?

It won't surprise anyone to know that I'd like to spend more time in Northern Sweden, but I also love where I live in Yorkshire. I plan to split my years between Sweden, Yorkshire, Barcelona and the west coast of Corfu when I retire.

North Korea would be more apt Borolad.

So you're guessing that the NHS will be abolished. Really, after everything thats just gone on? Political suicide for the next decade at least to even mention it. Get a grip.
There are around 1.2 million Brits living in the EU. Someone will have to pay for their healthcare.

And you don't know of any arragements where income gets taxed twice in different countries? And just because of that its not an issue for you.

Havn't really thought about this much have you?

Lots of folk intending to retire to the EU.

Any idea who will look after you when you get old and need expensive care?
Any idea what the tax situation will be?

Our plans are very much complicated by Brexit and none of us can say with any certainty how this will impact us. hopefully we would be able to downsize and retain a property in the uk. We will live the vast majority of the year in Spain / Tenerife. As British citizens who have worked for 40 years we would draw and pay tax on our pensions. We would absolutely and with no concern return to use the NHS for major health care matters. Our government pensions are secure but our ability to live in an EU country when the crazy decision for the UK to leave is actually enacted is the biggest uncertainty. Hope that helps with your questions.

I have thought about it. What is upsetting you about my answer?

Got to love ST and his fantasies. So he’s asked how he would pay for healthcare and the answer is well it will be same here when the NHS is gone... breaking news. It’s not going to be sold, it never will be. So when he leaves (in hiS fantasy but will still be in the uk bleating on) how does he pay for his healthcare. A question he has failed to answer.... a similar trait he has. Still hasn’t revealed his brexiteer study that he carried out over various social media platforms.... or in other words it doesn’t exist, made it up and when asked for it stopped replying 😂

What will he do with his Porsche, Merc and Tesla if he goes ? :ROFLMAO:

It may come as a surprise to you, but most european countries have a healthcare system that is as good if not better than that in the UK - civilisation doesn't end at Dover. They may be funded differently and work in a different way, but once you become resident and join/contribute to their particular system you are looked after in the same way as you are in this country. The same goes for tax, most if not all have reciprocal arrangements with the UK which will remain in place when the UK leaves.

Nobody but the foolish would make a permanent move to another country without researching thoroughly a particular country's system, so it's a condescending question.

Upset :D

Usual diversionary tactics from you when you simply can't respond with anything coherent.
They were pretty straighforward contributions to the 'leaving the UK' debate, provision of healthcare and taxation. Aside from family and employment probably the most important considerations most of us should make. Unless of course it's just another fantasy.......

I'll not get into your petty squabble ways. Thankfully there's very few of your ilk left here now. Jog on and feed your trollist needs elsewhere. (y)
