Channel Migrants (Admin advisory. Contains disturbing image and repulsive views)

Face Fuzz, honestly, I hope you never need anything, are never in danger, never need help.

You are one cold human being that's for damn sure.

I never said don’t help people in danger or in need of help. I just said control the immigration. You can be compassionate and control at the same time otherwise it’s a free for all

The issue isn’t immigration, it’s illegal immigration

people under the new immigration rules are qualified people or workers who can fit the right jobs

were making it harder for people who need help to come to this country

It's actually possible to have right wing values on things like crime and punishment, economics and the like but not hate other humans. That's where I am.

Maybe the left/right divide is simplistic for you but it's nuanced. To call me left wing shows you either don't understand the naunce or you don't understand me.

I know it’s complicated. I’m mainly right wing on most things. Immigration, benefits, law.

I don’t know you to understand you but your views on here appear left

Maybe. I don't think I am left. I hate the current government because their corruption and failures since the election have let me, and everyone in the country, down. I'm very much pro immigration because I just can't bring myself to hate people from different countries or with different colour skin from I. Economically I'm very right wing/capitalist and law and order wise the same.

I repeat
So, they are escaping war and danger.

Good job our fathers and grandfathers didn't run to the US, Canada, Aussie et al in 1939.

OK I'll bite

The problems faced by our grandparents then, and those faced by refugees now, are so completely different on so many levels it's utterly implausible to treat them as the same. The world is a completely different place now to how it was then.

Not only that, but many people did migrate during the war. Einstein is probably the most famous, he left Germany in 1933. Perhaps if he'd stayed, Germany might have got the H Bomb before us.

Thank goodness for migration eh?

The war refugees migrated to the first safe haven to seek refuge and if they did move on it was after following the correct procedures. I don't have a problem with Immigration per se but I do have a problem with ILLEGAL immigration. These people are already in a safe haven, WW2 refugees were not. If the conditions are poor in France then it is up to the French to deal with it.

But they can't all settle in the first safe country they land in can they? Because that would mean that Italy and Greece would have to deal with nearly all of them.

Brexit was allowed to be hijacked by Farage, Johnson , Gove etc. who used it quite deliberately to make ‘mild racism’ acceptable. There is of course no such thing as ‘mild racism’, a racist is a racist full stop but Farage skilfully ignited a spark that had been smouldering in the sub culture of places like the North East for years. A sub culture that Foreigners add no value to GB, they take our jobs, they attack our women and children, they all get big houses and incredible hand outs. The truth is, as was proven in the Brexit debate, immigration actually adds value to the economy but nobody was listening as Farage found fertile ground for his seeds. Immigration is now a polarised almost dirty subject in this country as Brexit emboldened and gave a collective voice and cause to jingoistic xenophobia. The popular press like the Sun, Mail etc. fan the flames every day and encourage those who have said the repugnant things they have on here to do so. We need to be far more worried however of the tens of thousands in the North East who would absolutely applaud and champion the views expressed to sink the boats trying to cross the channel as our country continues to descend into a nation of have’s and have not’s and loses its compassion and hope to create a fair and just society. How you treat people in most need defines you as an individual and a nation. I find the debate in this country all very sad.

Sub Culture?? my oh my there are some arrogant people on here with there superiority complex.

Quite neutral on the brexit debate, plusses and minuses either side of the argument.
Why do you bring Brexit into so many threads even when that is not the subject matter?
It sort of is. A lot of people with a hatred of immigrants voted Brexit for it.

As a father that photo of the lad is heartbreaking. But as a father I would never put my son in that position or risk his life for economic gain. That’s obviously not the channel but those that are crossing the channel are economic migrants and not fleeing persecution. We can’t even house and feed the homeless already let alone with the recession that’s coming this way.
We can’t even house and feed the homeless already let alone with the recession that’s coming this way. - Of course we can. This government CHOOSES not to.

As a father would you risk the life of your family staying put when in danger?

The only reason we can't feed and house everybody is because we choose not to. Tories are at the forefront of such decisions. If you vote for them then you vote to accept suffering.

I’ve heard brexiteers say we could turn into a version of Singapore (we can’t, but that a whole other story) That’s how their economy works, have a big workforce, many immigrants (why do you think there are 4 official languages?) and attract big companies to fuel the economy. It seems to be working well for them at the moment .

That’s how their economy works, have a big workforce, many immigrants
A euphemism for cheap and virtually slave labour
