A good point, we get one go at life, don't do the same thing, try new things in life. I've parked going to the pub, nights out, social gatherings, summer holidays.i try new stuff all the time.. I wouldn't call "popping to Spain for a 2 week holiday" trying something new...but would I travel now? no and if I did, would I be in the news moaning about it? no as you take your chances, you have to deal with the consequences.
Instead I'm trying something new, I've picked up my guitar again and am rapidly improving, I've read some books that have been on my to do list for ages, I've passed 3 exams that I needed to do.
I have bought a telescope and produced my first astrophotography images, learning how to align a telescope, find my way around the nightsky and use a toolchain of software to develop acceptable images. All in the safety of my home.
I've spent plenty of time with my kids, listened to new music, exercised (lost 2 1/2 stone), had zoom calls with some old friends in the states that I haven't spoken to in years, repaired my deck and started upgrading my garden.
Lots of new things here, now a 'friend' said it was 'so sad' that I have done this stuff instead of returning to the normal drudge of life, I've booted him of facebook, because that level of stupidity isn't welcome in my life. Lockdown has in many ways been a real stimulus for change. Some people embrace that change, some people are too lazy and just want to do the same old same old with their lives.
