* The Original Unofficial "Official" Boro v West Brom. Match-Day Thread *

When would that be exactly? I'm not sure that I'd ever be expecting anyone to pull my pants down. That's probably because I don't wear any pants.

Pulling the balaclava down, in your case? That would probably lead to more social unease than removing trousers from the smooth and uninteresting area where your rear legs connect to your lower back.

West Brom’s game plan to pack out their half and try and catch us out worked. Just one of those days. We weren’t going to win every game. What’s more important is how we react next week. Hopefully the same as after our last loss.

Totally agree, and Maddison's defence of him is pathetic. Second goal was his fault, and then blames the defender when Steffen comes out and makes a hash of it, luckily we got away with it
Its opinions, hilst am not his biggest fan at times, due to his lack of urgency his footballing ability and shot stopping is good its just decision making at times.

I think people need to calm down, I think the manager got team selection wrong today and once you go goals behind against anyone your always chasing the game, WB play like Boro undwr karanka, very solid defensively, its just another game that we have punished ourselves like Sunderland, Burnley, QPR away, we move on and go again next week, no need to hunt players down, lets not forget the squad has taking is from the depths of the championship to 3rd in the league, daring to dream of automatics lets have a bit of perspective, we wont win every game, UTB lets get back on track next week!

I just walk around in my leather jacket and my Doctor Martens, and nothing else. You lot never notice because of those illusion spells that my people have perfected. I like to feel the breeze on my bits.

I don’t mind defeats as long as they're battling defeats, where we lose out in a thriller or something. These sort of defeats rile me as theres nothing positive to say about them

Steffen just isn’t a good goalkeeper.

He’ll cost us more points than he gets us.
He will be long gone never to return to us at the end of the season. The second goal today was dreadful from him and his distribution was awful. If I was an opposition manager I would target his distribution

I would already disagree with that IMO, yes his decision making is subject to critics due to his slow attitude but as a shot stopper he has made many big saves for us this season which people ironically forget, once they have a chip on there back under a certain player

Other than

Other than we where part of our own down fall and then controlled the majoriy of the game but couldnt break an organised team down on this occassion!

I'll tell you what is interesting. The QPR matchday thread had 11 pages. This thead is on 18 pages. Makes you think, doesn't it.
Exactly, the first opportunity to have an onslaught over a defeat etc, we have been superb recently through a run of games where most half empty fans would of said typically Boro we will get beat blah blah, we created our own problem today and then couldnt break a structured team down yet having all the ball, we move on, every team will drop points we just have to keep doing what we have been and we will be fine, whether its second, third or 6th the team has been superb since carrick took over, perspective and a calm attitude is needed.

QPR last week tried to close all spaces in their half, and it was 64 mins until we break it down, today was the same WBA giving no space for Akpom, Mcgree to operate in..
Our rise up the league, has now made teams aware of our dangers, so we need to be patient and level headed, it will happen more often than not, teams sitting back, but we will win more games than we lose.... keep the faith....today was a blip.
