Zack Steffen

So a keeper who makes 3 fairly easy saves in a match but makes 2 mistakes, is still a good keeper? Not in my book.

A keeper who makes one mistake in half a season and makes 60 saves is what I want.

His pass completion rate is as good as our outfield players and he plays a higher percentage of longer passes. It isn't a myth, it's a fact
 
Today is not the day for talking about Steffen tbh, there was so much more to talk about and be critical of today than him and as most know, I am not his biggest fan. He did nowt wrong today that i could criticise him for, however,
McNair, Lenihan, Smith, Hackney, Howson, Archer, in particular, and despite his goal, Chuba to a lesser degree, were all way off the pace. We lost because collectively we could not defend second half, they could easily have had more in truth, you don’t concede 4 due to 1 man.

Aye, because they’re little 5 yard passes left and right. He even tried to play two with his hands today.

No they're not. Several of our goals and attacking moves start with a positive pass forwards from him.

If you're saying it's a myth that Steffen is excellent with his feet and is integral to how we play, then your basically saying Carrick doesn't know what he's talking about, because it's something he's been saying for the last six months.

Also, as far as I can see none of the goals were his fault today.

Where did I say they were?

Just responding to why his pass average is the same as our outfield players. Because they’re little passes left and right.

Yeah, he’s dreadful. People keep saying he’s important to the way we play as if he’s good with his feet, but I haven’t really seen it. Plus, as said, he’s not that great a shot-stopper.

100% passing accuracy from Steffen today, do you know how rare it is for a keeper to have 100% passing accuracy?
