Your favourite non-Boro player of all-time, with one caveat

You're not allowed to say Messi. Because that's just boring.

One much smaller caveat, they can't EVER have played for or managed Boro, so no 'Gazza when he was at Spurs', Big Jack, or 'Nobby Stiles at United' (boomers take note ;)).

For me, Ronaldinho hands down. Never had as much joy watching any player on telly as him. I used to set alarms on my phone to watch Barca when he was there (which I never did for Messi).

Watched live would probably be Hoddle or Waddle, with an honourable mention to Peter Beardsley. Internationally Modric. Only seen on TV, Best or Cruyff

Rodney Jack. Many will never have heard of him. He used to play for Torquay, and I used to get to see his weekly exploits on Westcountry TV. He was just too good for the Division 4. or league 2 or whatever it was called at the time. In his career he never made it to any club more exotic that Crewe. I don't quite understand why.

It's just the first name that came to my head when looking at the question.

John Barnes. That goal in the Macarena made me fall in love with football.
Always eloquent and articulate whenever I hear him speak as well. Also extra points for eating a banana some racist lowlife had thrown at him, and then coming to the Liverpool Xmas party dressed as a member of the KKK.😱😂

Zidane for me. Closely followed by Pirlo. Players who appeared to have that much time on the ball did it for me. Which is why I'm loving watching Bellingham at the mo, and why I won't bother with the England games now he's pulled out.

I said this on a thread a few weeks ago. Bellingham moves and plays like Zidane. He really does have the potential to be an all time great.
It's the way he effortlessly plays the ball into space with his first touch and uses all parts of his foot to make it difficult for the opposition to read which direction he's going to move. Wonderful players that make it look so easy.

Yeah, has to be Henry for me.

He is the greatest player to play in the PL, by an absolute million miles.

He used to put fear in defenders and more often than not, he won the battle before a ball was kicked.

Never seen anyone come close to what he was capable of, in the Premier League.
