YouGov Poll - 33 Point lead!

I couldn't care less if Labour would or wouldn't join the EU in the next 6 years. Reality is no party capable of winning an election could rejoin so it is a pointless argument.

I trust Labour more than I trust the Tories. I think that Labour would do a better job running the country for the people. And most of all we need a change. That is why I want Labour to win the next General Election. And unless anything weird happens they will demolish the Tories by the looks of it.

I can't wait to see BJ, Raab etc all lose their seats and never come back. That bonus of a Labour win - the Tories will get some new blood in who hopefully will learn from the mistakes of the past.

Maybe if every discussion about Starmer wasn't a battle of truth we could get on alot better? What do you say? 🤷🏻‍♂️

I'm trying to stay clear of such discussions (and probably failing lol) but after spending 6 years getting upset about the way the country has been trashed I've basically boiled it down to this:

1. Are the Tories doing a good job? - No, terrible

2. If the Tories aren't doing a good job does the country need change? - Yes, it really needs change

3. If the country needs change who can offer this? - The only party who can get elected is Labour, so Labour it is

4. What if Labour doesn't offer the change you want? - It is so bad under the Tories I'm prepared to give labour a chance. It is better than the alternative... more Tory.

I can't see any other way round getting the Tories out. And for the sake of the country we need them gone - even for 4 years.

Your issue exiled is that you are disingenuous and have an agenda so it's pointless taking to you.

Several times starmers position had been explained to you. He has even explained it himself, ideology v pragmatism. You ignore parts off a response to push your agenda.

I am done with ya fella. If others want to engage in your delusional tory agenda they are, of course, free to do so.

I ignored him ages ago.

Who's he? And shift to what?

Starmer. To being close to then effectively in the SM.
And I iterally have no idea why Brexit has been mentioned 🤷🏻‍♂️ I really don't get it 🤔

My fault. I put a recent poll up about it. My bad. This thread has been consistently about new polls, which is why I did it, but it had also just become one of the relevant issues of the day again. Not that it ever really went away, nor will it never be pertinent to economic issues until we are back in the Single market or as near to it that makes no material difference, or until the replacement trade deals with USA, China, Mercosur, India etc live up to the promises made whenever we manage them.

 for goodness sake. Really unnecessary. And weird. The anger that the Keir cultists whip themselves up into is bizarre.

Fair enough, so don't apologise

To be fair, Lefty you're always one of the more respectful posters. But if the Tories want to renegotiate the trade deal that's up to them

In fact why not email your local MP (assuming it's a Tory) as they're not going to achieve growth without immigration by the sounds of it

Be interesting which party is more likely to move on the deal we have and the Tories are the sitting Government and have the legal right to negotiate trade treaties

I’ve emailed Simon Clarke six times since the referendum, four of them were Brexit related, one was Johnson’s integrity and honesty related and one was regarding the democratically unsatisfactory internal Conservative Party voting system to decide yet another new PM. I also tweeted/replied to tweets countless times.

I had one reply to an email which was a generic CCHQ response that did not answer my concerns and I had one reply to a tweet which contained deliberate lies and misrepresentations. It concerned a Select Committee hearing on Hmrc customs provisions and what he wasn’t expecting was that I would not only have far more detailed knowledge and understanding of these matters than he (in itself a disgrace for a minister tasked with being on that committee), but I’d have sat and watched the entire 3 hour hearing. Busted!

Come on. Read Laughings post. He's fuming, and about what? Because socialists aren't enthused about the idea of the next government carrying on with the same old tory economics but with a smarter looking guy in number 10?

It is legitimate for people to have left wing views. Sorry if that upsets some people. It's pathetic to pretend that means they're secretly tories.

The current Labour Party under Starmer has left wing views and it is not going to simply carry on with Tory policies. It is also not as incompetent as the current incarnation of the Conservative Party under May/Johnson/Truss and possibly Sunak, nor the previous incarnation of the Labour Party under Corbyn and his dreamers.

'Keir cultists'

Have you heard yourself?

So you really think your pathetic juvenile response to Laughing's post is merited in some way?

It's weird that the loons talking about 'Kier Cultists' also tend to be the ones that claim he has no personality, how can you be a cult leader and have no personality?! It doesn't compute.

Starmer isn't perfect, far from it, but he's going to be our next PM (or the one after that, or the one after that, depending on how long Sunak can keep his job), but I'm sick of waiting for perfect, I just want better, then better, then better again. I want adults in charge, pragmatic politics, that lead us back out of this mess

i think that's where a lot of people are at. He's pretty vanilla is starmer, which isnt particularly inspiring but does at least make it hard for the tory media to attack him.

not seen anyone on this board saying he's brilliant. Some think he's playing the game well tactically. Some praise him for his performance at PMQs. Think nearly everyone thinks he could probably do better on some things.

what he is, is a lot better than the worst government in history.

if thinking he's ok, is getting some things right and is much better than a bunch of corrupt crooks makes you a Keir cultist, then sign me up. Pretty boring cult mind. Although maybe that's the point!
