YouGov Poll - 33 Point lead!

This is a global problem, which will only be exacerbated by inevitable climate change and water shortage. Nothing less than a fundamental realignment of wealth will change this, and that will not happen.
The EU has ‘Les Mains Salles’ too.

I still don't understand the political thinking behind the Rwanda scheme. It's never going to solve the 'problem' and you'll never satisfy the people who would favour the idea.
The tories will keep stringing the gammons along by pretending that they solving the issue, whilst at the same time complaining that judges, lefty lawyers, the EU, the Council of Europe, the woke blob and Labour are blocking them.

There's no political thinking. It's simply a very bad, ill conceived idea, that has spiralled dangerously out of control with Sunak absolutely fooking toast as he promised to deliver an undeliverable policy.

Something to keep the rabid Tories, racists, RWM and gammons happily distracted while the Tories get on with their main job of ransacking the country's coffers.

Shame this could well be Sunaks legacy. Sad eh? 🙄🙄

I agree, although I don't think the EU is better or worse than countries in the causation of this. In fact, you could argue that the protectionism of EU member states increases the competitiveness of EU businesses in the EU preventing long distance importing to some degree.

Everything can be brought back to over-populating the planet, there are just too many of us, we're ecological parasites, the western capitalist concept that eternal growth is possible is unsustainable and a huge factor in global warming, as we compete to make more things we don't need, at cheaper prices, and ship them in or out, at massive environmental cost is central to this.

If there was no migration we'd still be living in Botswana. It's never stopped in 200000 years and all the laws passed by "western" countries will not put a dent in the numbers willing to risk everything for a better life.
As has been said climate change and water shortage will only exacerbate the situation.
On top of that the world finds itself on the edge of military conflict.
Europe opened its doors to other Europeans when Russia invaded Ukraine but for others in a similar position it is slammed shut.
It's a global problem needing a global solution ..... that ain't gunna happen

Unless these flights turn the whole situation around we can but hope

Exactly this. It's basically a trojan horse to get us to leave the ECHR. It kind of has to fail. Then the Tories can mobilise the bigots and say "pesky foreign courts making it hard to send people to concentration camps"

Ignoring of course that a. It is a stupid idea and b. The superme court also banned the oractice

Almost two thirds of Conservative party members do not think Sunak should resign, regardless of how bad the local election results are, according to a survey.

The ConservativeHome website regularly surveys Tory members and this morning it has published the findings of the responses to its latest question

63.36% Rishi Sunak should not resign as party leader, regardless of local election results
13.44% Rishi Sunak should resign as party leader, if the local election results are bad enough
20.12% Rishi Sunak should resign as party leader, regardless of the local election results
3.08% Don't know

Yes this is Westminster. Just pouring scorn on the Thrasher analysis calling a hung Parliament based on Scotland voting the same way as it did in 2019.

This is the Holyrood voting intention.

Labour ahead of SNP and Alba combined.

It could be an interesting test of grown up coaltion politics. Let's hope they can pass that test, we really need it nationwide.
