YouFibre

Been with them around 18 months now in County Durham and can’t fault them at all, pretty much always get 1000 up 1000 down. Never had to phone them about an issue, had a couple of issues where it was being dodgy but received an email that night saying they were fixing it, I hadn’t even got in touch with them 😂

They’re just constantly monitoring your line and can see when it’s acting up, they usually do the maintenance/fixes around 1am but they’ll tell you that in the email.

Paid off our old contract with EE as well, we still had 8 months or something left but they paid the full thing.

Yeah they're very proactive with downtime comms, don't think I've had an unexpected outage yet - I've had 2 where I thought i had one but my cats had pulled the power cable out of the main node both times 😂

My only issues with them has been 1) I've got a static ip and for a time whenever they had downtime it disabled my static ip, which was frustrating and had to ask them to re-enable it but they sorted that out and hasn't happened in about 5 months now, and 2) I've referred a decent amount of people and have to chase up every one 😂 minor, but almost feels pointless capturing the referral email if there is no proper process behind it,. Every time I ask they say no new referrals, I provide the details and suddenly they can see it there. Like I say it's minor but not very slick and imagine some people just don't chase it up

CS is very responsive and you can email them; tweet them, use FB messenger or ring them up and they're open til 8pm

I can confirm what fair says excellent service. I have rang technical support once since i joined and got an immediate response and the woman on the call was first class. Far less outages than virgin, the install guy was great as well. I am using my own router and access point equipment as well which is exactly what i want. No brainer to switch if its in your area. I dont want to give that odious man Branson any more money so its win win win.

Like mentioned above although they do slower packages at 150mb for £22 and 500mb for £28, the 1gb package is 29.99 and is the only one you get 3 months for £1 on, so if you work out the cost over 24 months less the deals / referral the true cost is;

£539.82 ; £22.49 a month for 1gb
£615.78 ; £25.65 a month for 500mb
£505.78; £21.07 a month for 150mb

So while you may not need 1gb, and not many will, it's cheaper than taking 500mb and it's only £1.42 a month more expensive than taking out 150mb which is 6.6x slower

No brainer really.

i too can confirm they are great so far. been in about 9 months in ingleby. the fact they use the existing BT ducting is great as there is no digging. speed has been solid 950/950 since install. xbox games download in no time at all

I've got it in Billingham. Can confirm the speeds to the router are consistent with what was promised but remember your devices need to be up to date to get this speed. One issue i have with them is the EEro router supplied. You cant access the actual router page, you only get an app and while you can change some settings in there you can do everything you could do if you run your own router / access point. not the end of the world but something for the techies out there to consider. Also, their parental controls are non existent. They say they use Cisco's OpenDNS FamilyShield but it doesn't employ any kind of filtering so for those with kids beware. I've tried changing the DNS settings and while it worked on my older router it did not work on the EEro router so looks like I'm going to have to upgrade my router.

All small issues which don't make a huge difference, and i still prefer Youfibre to Virgin due to the issues already stated above with virgin but just wanted to give me experience :)

I've had it for 8 months and it's been perfect.
5 months free, then got another free month because I recommended a friend.

I get 1gig/s hard wired, and around 900Mb/s on WiFi.
I have their mesh installed for my PS5 (hard wired) and get around 500Mb/s on that device.
I have standard extenders for my office upstairs and get around 400Mb/s on my laptop with WiFi.

Tried getting my virgin bill down for years and they wouldn't offer me anything worth taking out a new contract for.

Had great pleasure in leaving them for YouFibre - never looked back, it's feel brilliant - and almost half the cost.

Fibre cable comes from new and existing BT telegraph poles in our area (Billingham) so the install was quick and easy. Took about 30 minutes.

Only thing that is lacking is an on line account - which I was told will be coming in the future.

I checked that my iptv wouldn't be blocked. This was a deal breaker for me.

Customer services said random checks can be carried out on customers connections and then you might be warned to not use illegal streams if found to be accessing them.
Then she said, "it's a legal requirement to follow that protocol."
When I asked if unofficially they are bothered what streams I access she said
"we don't even have the equipment to detect and block illegal streams, let alone the desire to" 😂

Nice one mate - all good to hear!!

Been with them a month now…
I don’t get the 1000mbs quoted off the router, it fluctuates quite a bit depending on time of day, but the modem reports above 900mbs…
all the rooms in the house do get good signal though and no buffering when streaming…
customer service is good and fitting was quick and they did it much sooner than was quoted…

Hubby just sorted all this out for us 2 weeks ago....coming last Tuesday of the month to install and £1 a month for first 6 months.....glad to see so many positives about it on here 😁😁

It'll be devices you're connecting with I imagine. WiFi or Ethernet?

2 of my nodes are hardwired and I get full speed on pretty much everything apart from 2.4ghz older hardware

Its pretty much the defacto standard for all isp's to cripple the firmware of their routers so modifications are limited. I use a fanless mini pc with pfSense installed which is an open source firewall router solution instead of the eero router. It works really well but its definitely not a beginners option but a techy fiddler's dream. If you have the cash then a unfi dream machine is a really good router option and more user friendly than pfsense or opnsense.
