This was a 'main' prezzie for me one year .. so not sure about the size of your stocking like. Stocking for me was walnut whip, small book of magic tricks, pack of cards, tangerine , tube of jelly totts, a parker pen etc

One of the greatest toys a lad could get . It was bedlam in our house.

remember those cap things. Most were like rocket design only an inch high. You'd tear off a cap from your reel , then load it into the compression area between two metalplates. The nose cone was spring loaded and would press the two plates together. So you'd go outside on some hard surface , chuck the thing in the air and it would land nose down, setting off the cap , giving you a big smile. Got loads of them , and stocking flller was prime time to receive them .

Our stocking were dads ICI work socks and our sacks a pillowcase. Always got a bumper colouring book and crayons. I loved Christmas then and still do.

have a vivid memory of one year us each getting this gand held this where you squeezed a lever and coloured sparks flew out compete with burning smell, obviously wouldn't fly today

I've made one for my wife this year. She said how much she misses them as a kid, so orange, walnuts, big red apple and a card game (best I could do)

Every lad in our class dreamed of getting a Johnny 7. It was the ultimate piece of kit for an infant school kid.
Sadly no-one did. I think they were a bit pricey.

I got a Kevin Keegan Brut soap on a rope one year. I hung it from my bedroom door handle. Our Mam couldnt stand the smell and finally binned it by May.
