Worst ever away day

I’d take him to Riverside first and then an away game. Try to go to one without a massive allocation first as that might be abit daunting for him. It does get boisterous but my lad has always loved it. We’ve been to 40+ grounds and had no chew but it can happen, like it has to the OP. Sorry to hear your lads day was spoiled
That's the plan. Took him to a Stockport County game a few weeks ago, in the family stand, and he loved it. Desperate to go to the Riverside next season which I'm more than happy to oblige. West Upper is a pretty safe place😁

I couldnt speculate.
Its criminalised now, but it didnt make any difference to the Dad and his lad did it?
Do you think decriminalisation would make these incidents more likely or less?

The UK populous aren’t mature/civilised/responsible enough to deal with legalised/decriminalised drugs.

We can barely get our heads around alcohol and that’s been legal since time immemorial.

I would look to move the clocks forward by one hour throughout the year, so we spend more time awake when the sun is out.

There is a huge correlation between lack of sunlight hours, depression and alcoholism in many countries.

I would also go for decriminalisation of softer drugs such as cannabis and psilocybin.

Prolific Cocaine use will lead us to a much younger population in the next 20 years.

Cocaine certainly does have an impact in terms of increasing aggression as these Doyles suddenly think they are Anthony Joshua.
The booze does that, the coke just means they can drink more. Neither are helpful with doyles, but they are usually that way without either.

Don’t understand why family zones can’t allow home and away fans, doesn’t seem right that kids have to mix with people like that

Always tend to find the closer away games really bring the scum out, haven’t bothered with as many over the last few years because of people like this, it just ruins the entire day and is the reason our fans are treated as criminals by police most places we go

If people want to get rid of a weed, you start at the root, not prune the leaves.
Or you poison the leaves and it kills to the root. That deals with Himalayan Balsam, nettles etc, so some pretty tough weeds.
Your attitude sometimes surprises me Roofie.

"Criminalised" and laws enforced in practice are two very different things.

The authorities in this country have given up.
Well, theres been a "war against drugs" and a "war" against everything - but war is a dirty destructive business and nothing has changed, has it?
What do you suggest?

The point being that its ineffective dealing with individuals and being reactive.
As a society we need to look at the "big picture" - otherwise nothing changes.
Any suggestions as to how to kill a privet hedge by the way?

the vast majority of fans yesterday were absolutely amazing! genuinely fantastic!

I’m sad to hear that a young fan didn’t enjoy the day and experienced pushing and shoving.. but let’s not take anything from the near 6000 strong that did the club and our town proud.

Big shout out to Preston police force! 100% the right way to go about things. Treating football fans as human beings out to enjoy their day.

Stoke seriously need to sort their act out! Boro Bhoycott for next season? How about a beam back to the riverside along with Mikkel Beck’s charidy game?

There hasn't.
In the UK, "The War on Drugs" is a phoney war. The war they never fought.
Otherwise how can the laws on statute (e.g. jail terms for possession) be so rarely enforced and so differ from real life experience? The police are there to enforce the laws on statute and they don't do it, simple as.

So is the solution to take the laws away (I don't think this would change much as they might as well not be there now in practice) or enforce the laws?

I think the latter.

I'm generally pro-decriminalisation because most drugs don't have a direct impact on the people around the users but cocaine isn't the case. Turns everyone overly aggressive and makes things worse for everyone else. Maybe if some of the more friendly drugs were decriminalised then fewer people would opt for cocaine.

I'm definitely boycotting Stoke next season due to the police.
