Worse pain you’ve experienced ?

Going through some back issues at the moment, and it got me thinking about pain .

the worse without doubt I’ve ever experienced was an ear infection !
Dunno why it was as bad as it was, but if you can imagine very bad toothache it was way way beyond that .
if I had an option of getting shot in the head right there at that time, I’d have taken it .

do we have many guys in the forces or former forces ? and have you ever been shot ?
That pain I really can’t imagine !!!
 
Tooth abscess nothing comes close. I've broken bones, taken a squash ball to the nuts, lost fights, been KO'd by a punch to the solar plexus and had a muscular spasm in my back. All a walk in the park comparatively. I imagine that child birth stings a bit but can't comment on that so my vote goes to the dental abscess.
 
I've been lucky not to have any serious injuries, conditions or broken bones (so far) - but if I ever again experience the pain I had with an exposed/infected tooth nerve, then it'll be far too soon.

Jesus Laughing, that's horrific.

I've recently had eye surgery under local anaesthetic. Being 90 minutes long and having to keep my head still throughout, I had a nurse by my side watching to see if I tapped the bed because I was experiencing pain. At one point I could feel the anaesthetic wearing off pretty quickly so they gave me a boost. I'd imagine even a short delay in getting that top up would have meant me being able to nominate that as the worst I'd ever experienced.
 
Gallstones. Good grief. Some of the episodes I had before surgery were excruciating.

Female colleagues said that they were worse than childbirth, but I was never allowed to utter such heresy at home. 🫣
 
First time the Gout hit me was the worst as I had no idea it was coming or what it was. That said the worst was a combination of a hard weekend of Theatre Get out/Get in when I did something to my back. My then Missus was doing Sports massage training so tried out her newly learned skills on me. Woke up in the morning and thought I'd been harpooned!
 
Had my heart broken loads of times. That always hurt more than smashing both of my front teeth out going over the bars of my bike when I was a teenager did.
 
The recovery after having a wisdom tooth out was naughty but having a scalpel run down the side of my big toe to remove an ingrown toenail causing me to almost pass out was by far the worst, poor chiropodist had to give me a sachet of glucose to sort me out.
 
My son caught me in the spuds messing about when he was about 3. Wasn't a full on , more of a clip of each. Good god. Doubled me over for about twenty minutes. Eye watering.

Toothache comes a close second
 
In Borneo on a fantastic holiday, turned out I had a gallstone trapped in the exit of my gallbladder. Screaming in pain, had to have the bladder removed as it was threatening to burst.
 
Gout....gout...and gout....good god ....sweet baby jesus and the Nazarines....I have been rolling around the floor beating the floor in agony for days with that....
It's horrendous and just doesn't stop no matter what you do.
Had it in my toes...ankle.....knees...
At one point this said to the hospital please....fella....take my leg off...I would honestly rather have 1 leg than this.
He refused

Lots of water and cherry juice plus allopurinol and avoidance of seafood and tomatoes....bobs your uncle
 
Had an abscess on my gum, above a front tooth, decided to pop it with a cocktail stick, felt a cold sweat creep across me, blinding pain and I think I passed out. Christ it knacked.
 
Snapping my wrist in half when I was about 10 and having to wait for 18 hours for an anaesthetist to be available for surgery.

Absolutely shocking pain every time I moved. In same accident I gashed my leg and needed stitches, I didn't even register that I'd done that. They apparently cleaned it and stitched it without me even realising.

Plus 18 hours nil by mouth on a boiling hot day just added to the torture.
