He did that great documentary ‘survival of the fastest’ just before the London Olympics. Can’t find it anywhere since.

He’s so humble as well as you wouldn’t think to listen to him that he was arguably the greatest there’s ever been to step foot on a track.

I’d agree with that. Bolt was great for the sport, but the combination of 200 and 400 is very rare.

Arguably the greatest track athlete of all time and full of humility with it.

Its fantastic to see athletics in such a positive light with great perfomers like bol after years of negative headlines around drug use.

In 2012 the shop I worked at won 2 tickets to the Olympics track and field for 1 night via a intiative from one of the big companies. People interested put their names in a hat....I put my name in but didn't win. The tickets were for Saturday.....super Saturday...Needless to say I was gutted

I was fortunate enough to attend. Mate’s wife won two tickets through BT or British Gas (can’t remember which). But then he kindly went and got her up the duff, she advertised them on Facebook and somehow only me (and my wife) expressed an interest (I had mapped out all the main medal hopefuls on a spreadsheet and knew they were gold dust).

The Olympics is one of those things that a lot of people don’t really get into until it actually happens, I find. Obviously not everyone, but quite a few. I still can’t believe we were there, we were like row 4 as well.

A lot of people including Bolt’s coach thought he could have been just as dominant at 400m but he didn’t like the training required for it. He certainly had all of the physical attributes.

I think there’s a strong argument that his dominance of the 100 and 200 may have suffered.

Certainly the 100m would. The 200m you could argue he would lose a little top end speed but gain the endurance to stay there longer. We’ll never know. I honestly never thought I’d see Johnson’s 200m record go but Bolt smashed it. If you look at the all time fastest 100m and 200m times and take out the athletes with PED issues, only Johnson and Yohan Blake (who has been implicated but never banned as far as I’m aware) are anywhere near him.
