World athletics championships

Particularly looking forward to the 800m. I hope Max can manage the 3 rounds. He ran 1:43:85 with no winter training and just two hard sessions. After his DVT last year he missed loads of work and has suffered inflamation in ankle/achilles. His heart and lungs allow hime to run that insanely fast, but he hasn't been able to adequately prepare his body for it. Fingers crossed.

Hoping he has a stormer. Been a tough year for him.

Spoke to his Dad. He managed a good fast session yesterday or the day before, so fingers crossed. He'll pull out if the injury gives him trouble. The longer term goals more important.

It’s so easy to forget how young max still is with those performances. Plenty of time to get it right - and for his body to mature. Seems to have wise people around him though hopefully a long career ahead of him 👍

And only 1 American in the top three.
Nice to see Kerr and Gourley through in the 1500 and a brilliant performance from KJT in the Heptathlon. I wonder why we have such a stellar history in this event.

Anyway @Skiptonboro, surely you should be more into your fell running?

There’s quite a bit up here haha! But no, I’m a high jump coach - have to travel to Wakefield & Sheffield with the group spread out though.

I'm an endurance coach with Halifax Harriers. Our high jump gear lies dormant most of the time. And vandals wrecked our throwing cage. Are you at the West Yorkshire T&F meets?

A couple of amazing performances tonight. Big Stahl in the Discus and Richardson in the women's 100m. That leg speed was like watching a roadrunner cartoon.
