Woodgate Sacked, Warnock in

I can feel sorry for Woodgate, but my greatest feelings are relief, delight and hope.
Of course the decision is too late and he should have never been appointed, but what's done is done and I'm looking forward with some passion and enthusiasm again.

Thanks Steve.
Coluka closed a post after the match saying whoever stole our old Steve Gibson, can we have him back.
Maybe he was returned after all. I certainly hope so.

I'm feeling fairly confident now. He's not one for the purists, but he knows how to organise a team and that's exactly what we need. I think we will pick up just enough points to stay up, even if it's only from 0-0 draws.

I don't feel much sympathy for Woodgate to be honest. It's been a shambles. Gibson is mainly responsible for it for offering him the job in the first place, but Woodgate is also partly responsible. I don't buy this "any Boro fan would have taken the job" line. It was obvious to most of us that he was biting off way more than he could chew and if he'd had any sense it would have been obvious to him too.

I have a suspicion he may have fell on his sword much like Strachan did . It’ll come out if that’s the case

That's a good point, we went from Lennie-Robson-Stevie Mac-Mogga-Karanka to Strachan-Monk-Pulis-Woodgate, OK a slight overlap, but his last 6 permenant managers, 4 have been a disaster, 1 was hopeful then a disaster, and the other got us promoted then it all fell apart.

Surprised - Yes
Right think to do - probably Yes
Was it too early for Woody to take the job on - Yes
Warnock right manager at present - probably yes

I tend to defend sacked managers, but I said in here before Woody was appointed it was a very big risk and not my choice to be MFC manager in the summer of 2019. It all felt too early for him.

I really like Woody as a person, but he felt like Willie Maddren era again, the club put him in charge with significantly declining funds in his first managerial appointment. Woody even had less experience than Maddren and had to get rid of more players than Maddren. I want to say thank you to Woody you really put your heart into the job and I would like to you stay and work with the club. Emotionally it may be difficult at present.

I tend to like managers who have proven records, who can show they have learnt through experience, that have shown insight, astuteness, guile and inspiration.

I didn’t expect that at all! If Woody didn’t fall on his sword then I expect he knew his fate the moment he was called to the office!

Gibson should have acted long before now.
I hope Warnock has been given enough time to keep us up.

Murdoch, Maddren, Southgate, Mowbray and now Woodgate.

Fantastic players for the club , but no experience at management at a time the club is cutting funding and replacing good players with inferior ones.

I feel feel sad that Woody has joined the list of ex-players (legends) that have failed, when lack of support is the biggest factor in that failure.

Robson, McClaren and Karanka prove that inexperienced managers can work, but they got the backing they needed

Only Big Sam to go and we will have had the three most popular managers in Britain in charge our club (y)(y)(y)

I think we will stay up with ease now, just be hard to beat and win against teams around us. With our squad I’m confident warnock will be able to do that in his sleep.

Not Mowbray - he had significant management experience.
