Womens World Cup 2023 in Oz and NZ

Disappointed with Spain’s theatrics at the end. Keeper should have been booked and a couple of players went down with minimal contact. One thing I have enjoyed about this is the fact that the players haven’t gone down like a sack if spuds and rolled around.

Will spoil it for me if that creeps in

I have seen worse time wasting than Spain who I thought were refreshing. The more enterprising play was rewarded. Swedens negative approach caught up on them I thought.

I trust we aee all hoping for another team in yellow shirts to be shedding tears at the end tomorrow.

Very nervous about tomorrow's game.

It would be very funny for Spain to win the World Cup after that.

Those 12 internationals who remain excluded missing out on the biggest honour possible and having egg on their face.

Though of course they might well argue that Spain went the whole way in spite of the manager, not because of him.

Same England side as well. I think they will get more time and space in this game than they did against Nigeria and Columbia and won't have as much of a physical battle, if they do, they'll hurt Australia. But I'm not 100% confident.

I don't think Kerr is 100% fit, so it seems strange to start her. But if she is fully fit then it'll be a tough game.

Ella Toone really needs to step it up in this game, especially if she doesn't want to lose her place to James again in the final. She's had a really good opportunity, starting as first choice number 10, and then getting a second chance thanks to the sending off. But she hasn't really done enough in any of the games to keep that spot (in my opinion).

Predictions then? I'm going 2-1 England - Russo and Hemp again for England, Kerr for Australia.

I cant see England winning in 120 mins. Take it to penalties. 2-0 Aus. Repeat the win at Brentford a couple of months ago.

Kerr will end up going off injured at some point, she's clearly not 100% fit but is the Aussies' talisman.

Going to be a very physical game.

Definitely physical. The Aussie right winger Hayley Raso goes hard in her challenges and pushes the boundaries of acceptable physicality as Alex Scott would say.

I didn't think she seemed that kind of player when I saw her playing for City. I don't see it being as physical as the Nigeria or Columbia games. I do fear the worst if it is, I think the fear of those challenges made us rush at times against Columbia.

Fingers crossed for an early goal to shut the home crowd up and force them to push players forward. I don't think I could handle a repeat of the Columbia or Nigeria games.
