women commentators

Personally I have nothing against women commentators or pundits. I think Dana on BBC Tees is outstanding. Her knowledge and analysis is excellent. Better than many men imo. I love listening to her.

I do though find the woman who seems to shout all through the games on motd very irritating. She seems overly aggressive and I tend to switch over when she is commentating on a game .

She is just so loud! Or is it just me?

I agree. Although plenty of blokes every bit as 'annoying'. The fact is you get good females and not so good. Just like the blokes.

The problem is you'll get hammered as sexist for calling one out.

Sky have several very good female pudints and match reporters. I think Sue Smith is excellent. Also Katie Shanahan. I'd actually argue the blokes in the studio are the issue 😂

I mean the lady on tonight is no worse than Steve Mcmanaman.

Definitely not. Dana is excellent, although I did disagree with her dire comment from the Hull game.

The woman on MOTD just isn’t the best. Similar for me to Alex Scott. I respect Scott and think it’s great seeing an ordinary woman do well, but find her presenting a bit plastic and forced.

It's not just you.

Is it because women commentators tend to overdo the drama when they are describing the action? A personal opinion, I know, but are they trying to make themselves sound so very different from male commentators and thus they grate on the ear?

For the record I think Dana Malt is a great pundit but I have no idea about her commentating abilities.
