Will Tier 4 change your NYE celebrations?

Went to Iceland and Marks and Spencer’s today and stocked up on loads of food , booze and soft drinks for my pregnant GF and gonna have a nice buffet and gonna watch something on Netflix and then see the new year in with Jools Holland. Can’t wait to be honest.
Enjoy it Block you are a canny lad.

I'm a bit sad for the first time in lockdowns.
We normally have a full house and people travelling to us for New Year. I love it.
Nobody coming tomorrow, so connecting digitally.
Plenty of nice food, booze and an appreciation how lucky I am to have my missus with me.

All the best to every poster on here. Hope you are going to enjoy 2021.

We haven't gone out since the Millennium rip off and have stayed in every New Year since other than last year. We travelled back from France a year a go to the day and we spent the New Year with my brother in law in Cambridge.

This year will be like the majority of the others. The two of us having a cosy meal, cheeky bottle of Bordeaux and a little bit of Jools on the tele.

I have never really been one to celebrate the New Years Eve but I do like to go to the club to watch the comedian on New Years Day. Been a few years since I've done that.

Happy New Year to everyone.

No change for me. Have had quite nights in for New Year for ages, having said that it's because I've already burnt myself out over Christmas. That's definitely not the case this year 😔

Hahahah Netflix and Chill is long gone. With a one year old and a pandemic, we realised we’d been for 2 proper date nights this year and one of those was on her birthday.

So original plan was a three course meal. However now she’s changed Her mind and decided that since she doesn’t really breastfeed anymore she wants her first Chinese since she got pregnant.

I can’t wait for the dry mouth when I wake up on NYD
I hope you have a really good night together, but 'Date Night.' I find this expression really cringey that a couple need to call spending time together a 'date night.'

Each to their own - All the best for the New Year.

Same here... although I actually don't like NYE. Usually make a point of going to bed early!

All the best to you too!!

It’s more to mean we will make more of an effort than our usual Friday / Sat evenings which usually involve a relaxed evening, with no special effort involved.

TBH I can’t wait to be able to get back to going out for weekly meals / drinks with her on a Friday / Saturday night. Only another 17 years to wait ;)

Yes, our plans changed when London went into tier 4, my daughter ordered a Burmese kit from a restaurant, we will cook it up, watch a film and then Jools

I know exactly what you mean, the wife and I go off to France for the six weeks and spend the majority of the time just the two of us together going for meals or just sitting and talking to each other. We have no tele and just listen to music whilst watching the stars. Each year it brings us closer together - we've been married 34 years just gone.

Sat on my own and quite content . Got my open fire all ready and a box of Kronenbourg ( on offer at Sainsbury’s ) . Corned Beef hash in a giant Yorky and going to watch Gone Fishing Christmas special which I’ve been saving . Bed at 10 😴
There's a bit of fishing going on in this thread.

Usually we have our the wife's sister and family stay with us from the USA. But it's just going to be the two of us and son. Some good TV films, drinks and food will be great.
We are going to make our wish list of good things to do next year as compensation for this year
Already on it are, a F1 GP, possible Monza, a cycling trip to Alpe D Huez with son, a music festival, backpacking trip to Scotland. Obviously covid and EU travel willing!

Sister is coming to ours with her 20 odd year old daughter, who has been suffering with her mental health since March because of the lockdowns, we've agreed that they should still come- she's been really looking forward to it. Yep it's against the rules, but as with the rest of 2020 stuff it. So 6 of us, 4 that live in our house, Wife, Son and his Girlfriend and my Sister and Niece. Doors locked and we will be having a good drink and natter with more food than we could eat.

I’m sure God will forgive you . Have a lovely time and definitely give your niece a big hug . Her need is greater than his 😎
