Will Isaiah reach his potential at boro?

Jones is a talented player and will come good.

I’m 100% certain of this because I simply refuse to believe that someone with his ability could be better under Wilder than Carrick.

IJ came into the open about a lot of recent issues for him, I think the ' pile in' is on the back of that. This thread however it started needs a time out and a rethink. I have had mental health issues and I wouldn't be surprised if many of the posters taking sides on this have had those issues as well, but I feel like the original context of this thread , has he reached his ceiling doesn't need to keep coming back, ok I get it to many posters he was underperforming and they wanted to discuss it, but to now know what we know then this thread with this title needs a break , this question doesn't need to be asked this season, give IJ a little bit of respect.

I don’t think Isaiah has been disrespected at all in this thread.

I am happy to rename the thread if I am able.

Well done to Jones last night, hopefully that’s him rebuilding his confidence and showing us what he’s capable of and notching a few more goals.

Like I’ve said in this thread I will love it if I’m proven to be wrong about him and he can go on to be a world beater for us.

Look forward to seeing him on Saturday and tearing Coventry a new one!

Hes a player with 2 proffessional seasons under his belt. I despair of some football fans, no context in their thought process'

First and foremost he’s a winger so they never really have two seasons alike but in Jones case he’s had problems at home so I’m willing to bet he comes good this season.

If he had put in another stellar season last season he’d probably have been sold, so perhaps it was a blessing in disguise that he had an off season.

Still a way to go to consistently hit the heights of two seasons ago (well from when Wilder took over until the March/April time, when everything went pear shaped). A valuable member of the squad, if not a starter.

As much as I hate old threads being bumped this one needs to be, on the back of that performance yesterday.

Two things I take from yesterday

1) He hasn't potentially reached his ceiling but it's not guaranteed he will go further, unfortunately as good as he is , on his day, he can also have periods of dropping off, and needs a good setup to nurture him when he is blowing cold, that's not guaranteed in football, but I think Carrick rates him and while he is here he will have a good set up for him..

2) That I knew as soon as we won everything would be alright again, the forum as been unbearable for people losing it and calling for Carrick's head, , it's made me spiky and have a 'told you' attitude, which just after reading "stop being a d*ck" link that mutley posted earlier in this thread I'm going to try and pretend that nothing happened. Lots of love xx

I do think Izzy is at his best when he has Crooks playing along side him
That's the problem with football I agree with that but I also want Lath to play behind Coburn , so he has similar player behind him like he did at Rovers which might mean moving or dropping Crooks. Football eh!
