I agree without his pace he wouldn’t be a pro because his basic technical level is fairly low. He’s currently not good enough to start for me and is a project player that could go either way. Was it Warnock that said Djed could be anything he wants or be non-league…same applies to Jones

What do you mean he gets away with a lot because of his pace? His pace makes him the player he is and is a huge part of his game. You're so determined to be proven right you jump on his every mistake. Posting about his poor cross against Betis in a Pre season friendly when he had not long came off the bench. It's exhausting, just get behind the lad at a time when he probably needs our support more than ever. He's proven how good he can be for us in the past and I'm sure he will do it again.

By that, he means many players who come up through academies, with apprenticeships, scholarships and professional training - are at an advantage to raw talented players from off the park. Our Jonesy has a lot of catching up to do, but for me he appears to be doing it. Maybe the pressure to perform 100% every game impacted on his thinking and performance? It happens very easily and very quickly. Hes a terrific talent and deserves support and empathy. He also deserves time to reorg and go again. Michael Carrick has commented many times on what it takes for younger players to advance in the game and face the challenges. He should know

Spot on. I’ll always back him in the 90 mins, but all players are fair game for a review of their performance from fans. Hopefully he’s got through his dark times and can find some form and learn from his mistakes.
