Wilder - We need a bumper crowd on Saturday

I think it's the natural impact of not winning in 5, with a few bad home performances on the bounce, the fallout of the manager situation, and many fans throwing in the towel and thinking the season is over.

That and it was on Sky, which will clearly have made the decision even simpler for many.

£30 pound to sit in the lower tier of the North stand naaah we live in Grove hill not notting hill
Good point! Places like Middlesbrough (Stockton), that are some of the most economically deprived, their football clubs will suffer in the near future. With the economic situation, people have other things to spend their money on.

I've said for years that the ordinary man (and woman) has been priced out of football.

All things considered we have good support (excellent away support).
We do indeed, but last nigh the crowd was small and those who attended were strangely quiet. It was a poor night off the pitch.
Thankfully it was a good night on the pitch.
There should be a much bigger crowd on saturday, but I'm not sure there will be.

It will easily be a couple of thousand more on Saturday.
The atmosphere will depend on on the mood of the crowd. Hard to be predict, but certainly better if Sheff utd lose on Friday.

7k tickets left just now so already a bigger crowd than last night. Hopefully pay day and a good QPR result tomorrow night can get the crowd up over 25k.

I agree mate.
I remember the days 4000+ crowds at Ayresome Park on the slide to liquidation.
No complaints from me

Me too. Interesting that at Ayresome last night would have been an almost full house and a cracking night game atmosphere. I don't know when night games lost their special buzz. We need it back as in the Championship those games can make a difference.

I wonder if an offer on tickets just for night matches might work if we don't go up. That might not annoy my fellow season tickets holders as much.

As an aside on that, why do people begrduge the club trying to get bigger crowds? Do they complain if someone buys a pair of pants in the sale that they got at full price months earlier?

Wonder if the club realise when they can barely shift tickets for huge league games they might have got their pricing very wrong
Does anyone know how many early bird season tickets ended up being sold? If we end up in total with 20k+ then I don't see normal prices changing. But I really think there should be some offers. Even if they include some perks for season ticket holders.

Well put, but the club doesn’t try to get bigger crowds as it is unwilling to put your rationale to the test.
