Wilder Putting Himself out there again

We aren't missing him at all and that article had done nowt to change my mind that I think the fella is an @resehole. Good riddance!

His Arrogance is unbelievable, me! me! me! me! me!.... look what i've done, look at what I did.
His man management skills were comical, constantly naming/shaming footballers in his past interviews.

The moral at our club was at an all time low thanks to Wilder.

Carrick's calm and modern way of man management is a breath of fresh air, football has moved on and Wider is stuck in the past.
I get the impression he would cherish his LMA manager of the year award more than winning the champions league

He also goes on about being tactically flexible and astute, then spent his time here trying to crowbar his 532 formation onto a group of players completely unsuited to it
Even if the summer transfer window didn't go the way he'd hoped it would, he still chose to continue playing 532, when it was clear we didn't have the players suited to it.

Good managers are flexible and able to work with what they have. Instead of trying to use Clarke as an overlapping cente halve, and persisting with the midfield trio of Howson, Mowatt and Crooks, he could have tried a different formation which would have suited the players we have but the reality is it was all about him. It was all about finding a way to make his formation work and the players had to try and adapt to that.

Look at the contrast with what Carrick has done with Akpom. He's played him as a no 10 because he could see something in him after watching him in training, that made him feel he'd be suited to that role.

Comparing himself to Eddie Howe 'whose last job was a relegation'. Aye Chris but not only did he keep his team in the PL for a few seasons he went away and learned his craft. You can tell he wants a £££££ owner like Howe has.

I said when he got the bullet from Gibson that his reputation had been significantly damaged, due to the circumstances and similarities with his demise at Sheff Utd.

He'll have to drop down to L1, or maybe the SPL to get back into football, but plenty of successful managers have later disappeared without trace.

David O'Leary, Alan Curbishly etc etc

Yes he spat his dummy out in the summer and looks more foolish by the day with Carrick in charge

What do you expect he's hurting, who puts on their CV im **** and spit my dummy out
I'd given him the benefit of the doubt up until this point. I'd hoped he'd come out and say yeah I really messed up, I was arrogant and I admit that I was tempted by the Burnley job however the experience has humbled me and I aim to learn from it, which hopefully will help me to become a better manager in the future.

And if he'd done that it actually might make him a bit more employable.

Instead it comes across as "I am fantastic (better than I've ever been! 🤯), it wasn't my fault, I regret nothing. The end."

Better than Pep Guardiola, Jürgen Klopp and Mauricio Pochettino..

or a league two manager who blagged a decent season in the premier league with Sheffield United?

arguments ever day at rockcliffe, our worst ever start in history.. awful manager! he is like a three ghost spirit of Gordon Strachan, Garry Monk & Tony Pulis.. all rolled up into a turd of a man.

aggressive pish head who has traits of a man who supplements his nights out with gear.. talentless, delusional, asrehole.
We need the graphic comparing his tenure to Woodgate's again.

I don't have as many ill feelings towards Wilder as many clearly do. Many people, me included, were singing his praises this time last year. Amazing turn around, promotion candidates, breath of fresh air, best manager in the league etc.

As time went on though and we heard more from him it seemed to me that he thought he was much more intelligent than he is when in reality I'm not sure he is particularly bright, even for a footballer. He talks with that classic bluster of self importance but lacks any sort of self awareness. I strongly believe he had an epiphany at some point, or he learnt something when studying for his badges that he then implemented (overlapping centre backs / overloads) which worked when teams weren't expecting it but once other teams were aware it became easy to stop and he had no clue how or why his tactic wasn't working and he just kept trying it over and over again. Like if you leave fixed instructions when you are away on Football Manager. He is still delusional enough to believe that his one tactic is the answer and wherever he goes next he'll be set up in exactly the same way and he'll have some short-term success before he's sussed again.

On top of that limited ability to see the bigger picture he also seems to be a terrible man manager. He only wants people that work hard, even if they aren't particularly good. He dismisses anyone that shows any individuality, he doesn't trust youngsters and he constantly tells the press how poor his players are and how he needs better players. If he had been backed better by the recruitment team (which means getting the players he wanted to fit his system) then he could have had a half decent season but it would have ended in disaster because he's nowhere near as good as he thinks he is.

Mentions the first 11 games this season but neglects to mention the back end of last season funnily enough.

"You can't go to Man United and get a result without being tactically astute".

Can you go away to a Preston side with nothing to play for and get stuffed 4-1 without being tactically astute either Chris?

And as if he's trying to take credit for Carrick's success. Our star man are largely players he wanted nothing to with.

What a nob.
Totally agree, I have mentioned it before but Alan McInally more or less called Wilder out with what Carrick is achieving with the same group of players. McInally was a pundit on Sky and praised our style of play and what Carrick had achieved and questioned why Wilder couldn't get a tune out of them. McInally more or less said our performances under Carrick were night and day compared to Wilder's.

What I find frightening about the whole thing, the players performing in Carrick's team would have been allowed to leave for peanuts if Wilder was still in charge.

People make mistakes in jobs and hindsight is a wonderful thing, but Chris Wilder is a fraud and any chairman worth his salt would look at Middlesbrough and ask himself the question, 'is he really our man.'
