Wigan decision no later than July 28

Alan Nixon just tweeted

Wigan. Appeal. Just checked. Appeal was made on July 6. Evidence put in by July 10. The commission hearing has be taken WITHIN 21 days of appeal. So the latest a decision SHOULD be made is July 27. Could be earlier but wouldn’t count on it.

As it stands This who is currently below us.

Birmingham 50
Charlton 48
Luton 48
Wigan 46* (12 point deduction)
Hull 45
Barnsley 43

They are desperately hoping that Wigan are clear of the drop before announcing the deduction. It'snot just unfair on Wigan it's unfair on Luton, Charlton, Brum and us! We could have the situation where we don't know which division these teams are buying for on Thursday morning. Spineless dithering incompetents.

It certainly lets Boro know that we need to avoid defeat at Sheffield Wed , because if the results of the other 3 games go against us we can be in the third tier next season courtesy of our "friends" at the EFL.

Also there's the Sheff Wed ruling to come through. A 9 point deduction puts them 3 points behind the Boro. They had ages to sort this out. As muttley says they're just waiting for the season to finish so they can apply a deduction that doesn't lead to a team being relegated.

Didn’t realise Parry was involved in this - he hates us and would definitely revel in sending us down again. We must get a result !

Hope a few of the “fair Minded”, proper operating clubs band together with them and do it. Didn’t realise the punishment could be 21 points for SW & Derby.

This is why we need to bust a gut on Wednesday. I wouldn't want to rely on this points deduction!

By not stating the penalties, I suppose it keeps teams guessing and therefore as ‘honest’ in their performances in their final games. I don’t like the fact they are waiting, but it may possibly have something to do with it.

All he** will break loose if Wigan are not deducted the 12 points. They entered administration and the rule states a 12 point deduction there are no exemptions.

I thought the 12 pts had to be 'applied' as soon as all fixtures were completed ie about 9.30pm on wednesday so to be fair to all the teams involved (inc Wigan) they should know the outcome well before ko as it could affect team selections, tactics etc

For Wigan the stay up (under 12 point deduction) they would have to beat Fulham on Wednesday and hope Luton and Charlton don't both win. I guess this is what the FL are hoping for. Otherwise they are going to relegate Wigan by deducting 12 points.

Except it's no longer up to the EFL - it will be decided by an Independent Panel.
