Why would you ever drive north of London..twice?

You’ve temporarily banned Cooper? Seriously?

Admin caused this issue with a post that compared an ex poster currently charged with serious offences to Cooper, it was unnecessary and could be interpreted as offensive regardless of the intended nature.

This could, and should have been defused long ago, but unfortunately admin have taken completely the wrong approach.

The comparison was only to his posting style as a Tory activist, nothing else ffs!

What an absolute disgrace banning Coops. After all the vile bile some lefty posters came up with during Brexit and the clear anti Tory Agenda appearing in nearly every thread I don't believe the abject cowardice of Admin.

You ought to be absolutely ashamed and embarrassed banning a member because you think he may be an activist of a party you disagree with.

Cooper never lost his cool so no need for him to calm down but if this is indicative of what the board has become then you're a sad bunch of sychophantic clones wallowing in self righteous angst - you lost the election, you lost on Brexit - get over it.

House!

It’s been an unprecedented sh1tshow for four years, thanks to brexit and the incompetents behind it and farcically delivering it, followed by more ineptness handling the pandemic. They are Tories and in government. What do you expect? This is what you voted for, get over it yourself.

Is that actually true? I didn't see a post from Rob mentioning SmoggyRainbow. Personally I did allude to SmoggyRainbow, but only as an example of how the old board was infiltrated by a political activist that freely admitted to not being interested in football. I had actually forgotten about the charges that RainbowSmoggy is facing, but since I only mentioned him as evidence of political activists infiltrating a messageboard, the allegations against him were irrelevant to the point. At no point did I compare Coops to RS either.

It shouldn't really be a surprise that football messageboards are infiltrated like this by the right, the BNP was actively recruiting at grounds in the 70s and 80s, EDL in the 90s and Britain First in the 00s and the gentrified version of the previous groups UKIP in the teens. With the Tories moving more right and Cummings links to internet campaigns, it's no surprise they have started to use football messageboards to sow disinformation. Stay vigilant

I think you can easily identify the FMTTM posters on all sides of the political divide who are the armchair politicians who watch the news, listen to the radio, read the newspaper and form an opinion to have a bit of a debate on a forum or with mates in a pub.

When you start getting strange posts with ‘messaging’ or obtuse arguments that then start filtering through the mainstream political channels as if the message board has been used as some sort of ‘outrider’ facility then you start to get suspicious.

These political parties and activists are so adept at infiltrating social media these days that when a poster protests innocence and claims to be just an ordinary man in the street you just don’t know whether or not to believe them.

Cooper is 100% an activist, he's non stop with the Tory this and that, yet claims he voted labour for years and years until very recently, he doesn't come across as someone who did that.

When you see this sign speeding through the Vale of York towards Darlo - thats where I`de rather be - knowing the sandy beaches of Redcar and the cliffs of Saltburn are just a change of train and 30 mins away(y) Sod London. I wouldnt drive back there!

There was no need for the post at all within the context of the thread, from admin in particular.

The thread was not about posting styles, it was about a poster charged with serious offences. Absolutely no need for any kind of link to be made.

FFS.

I am on the opposite side of the fence, politically. I'm not an activist but am a LP member. I couldn't care less whether he's an activist, I just watched wide-eyed and with no small amount of bemusement yesterday at him kicking off over really very little.

If that’s the case I could name half a dozen labour activists off the top of my head on here. They are the ones that gang up too quickly rubbish any conflicting views to their own. Terrible form by the admin - what happened to free speech! Quite enraging actually when if anything Cooper was the victim in this scenario so how on Earth he ended up being banned is beyond me. This is a football message board, when the admin let their politics get in the way of it then something has gone badly wrong.
