Why would you ever drive north of London..twice?

Back to the thread topic. I'm still unsure what senior advisory role Tara Jane O’Reilly has within labour.

Can you enlighten me please Cooper?

BoroFur as I suspect you nothing about the civil service I’ll enlighten you a little. My daughter is 5 and has severe asthma so she is classed as vulnerable. Guidance stated if you lived with someone who was vulnerable but not yourself you should attend work and continue to practice social distance as much as possible at home. Recently that change to acknowledge that members of staff working may have concerns about family members they live if they are vulnerable and can’t reasonably practice social distance in the home. Therefore I was offered the chance to work from home. Now as about 40% of the workforce were already at home working they had already taken any available computers. So later ones like myself have to wait. It’s no skin of my nose I’m on full pay doing nothing.

Secondly you started a thread with my name in it and borolad warned you not to troll me. Don’t try and deny that. Also why you stalking me on the old board too?

Chris no idea mate. Took it off someone’s Facebook page. Have no idea who she is. As already stated is was abit naughty thread

BoroFur Also just to add. See WeeGord as a poster who has some credibility. All you do is follow me about like a cape fear version of FMTTM. Take note of his post and take some advice from it

I know plenty about the civil service Cooper, my wife works for the DWP in UC and has been working all hours including Bank Holidays and weekends to deal with record number of claimants and help the lives of people less fortunate.

I also know from her that there is a small minority of civil servants who are taking advantage of the current situation and are using every excuse under the sun to avoid work i.e. it's no skin off their nose because they're on full pay doing nothing.

And if warnings from admin start with 'please' and end with 'thanks' then yes you've got me bang to rights.

If reading a thread on the other board is 'stalking' then yet again you've got me.

I don't live for credibility or attention unlike yourself but I will continue to call out politicians, and posters on here for that matter, for saying one thing but doing another.

To help the lives of the less fortunate or to take advantage of the relaxation of overtime rules? Double time no matter what you work and double time and a day of in lieu on a bank holiday? I was doing exactly the same along with most of the office. Don’t pretend it’s for the greater good. It’s for extra money (which there is nothing wrong with)

Secondly as you state wife should well know that any member of staff who is classed as vulnerable as not allowed in the office under any circumstance! No exceptions allowed. So to suggest that people are playing the guidance is incorrect.

As for myself the guidance changed 2 weeks before I was asked if I would like to work from home. I knew the day it changed but made no approach to leave. My manager approached me and to suggest any parent would turn down the chance to further protect their child in order to continue to do a 40 mile round trip each day is ridiculous.

It is no skin of my nose thst I’m getting paid to do nothing. It’s not my fault the equipment hasn’t turned up. If your wife believes people are taking advantage of the guidance I do not agree with her. She sounds like the sort who gave the gazette the incorrect story about the DWP building being unsafe. The consensus from staff the next day was it came from someone very bitter they could not work from home

My wife doesn't 'need' the extra money fortunately and neither is her attitude motivated by receiving additional time off. I mean, what is she going to do with more holidays? She offered to work overtime simply because she wouldn't be on the 'phones' and could therefore catch up on her ever increasing case-work.

It may appear to be a completely alien concept to you Cooper given your right wing, sharp elbow, anti-social justice leanings but there are 'sorts' like my wife who are desperate to help others less fortunate. Of course this can only be achieved by rocking up to work every day and putting in a shift instead of hiding under the duvet cover.

I would never exclude any member of society
You're not being excluded, you are being reminded what is deemed socially appropriate on this board. There are plenty of other boards, that fit right wing culture. I can think of one in particular that I am registered on but have only ever posted about 4 times, because, well I don't think the culture of the board is for me. So I will quietly, and rarely browse a football topic on occasion

Your wife won’t have received leave. She would have received a flexi credit for the hours she worked but give your statement I presume she didn’t. Nor did she claim double time travel time or the petrol expenses for travelling in on overtime 🙄. Your mrs sounds like she is a case manager possibly

Oh by the way I also work for UC but I also work for ESA. Now I wonder what job I was doing on UC... oh yeah would be HRT decisions enabling people to claim benefit as until that decision is done they can’t claim... yes it would therefore think I was helping those most in need.

I’m sure if your wife was offered the opportunity to work from home to protect someone vulnerable she would have taken it. Be abit neglectful otherwise so you can keep your smarmy comments to yourself. My family will always take priority over anything else. Abit shameful if yours doesn’t.

Boromart it’s not 1985 it’s 2020. Very sad if you promote an inclusive society unless you voted for a certain political party. Telling someone to basically shut up and keep quiet due to their political voting is as bad as telling to someone to shut up due race or sexual beliefs as they don’t match your own. I wouldn’t do that it’s a shame you promote and support people that do

I wish Cooper and s_a_b would learn to use the quote/reply function. It makes it much easier to keep a handle on a thread.

I know how to use it. Unfortunately as soon as I log in (which takes multiple attempts) the forum won’t load and that includes quote/reply function. Don’t know why it doesn’t work no matter what appliance or WiFi I’m on

Does your screen not look like this, with a little Reply on the bottom right of the post you are reading?

Alternatively if you don't want to quote the whole post you can highlight one sentence and then click the little reply flag that pops up on the screen.

Yeah but the whole thing just doesn’t work. Basically when I came on here I was cooper6711 after a while it suddenly stopped working. So it will take 5 mins to load a page. Press reply and it just whirls round so I thought somehow it had corrupted. So I then signed up again under this name. It worked perfectly until I was given posting privledge and it did the exact same thing as my old profile. After this post I will have to delete my browsing history in order for me to view the forum. I have to view it logged out as soon as I log in it won’t load any pages. So when I want to reply I go to the page log in type what I want and delete browsing history. I can just log out as it takes too long. It does this no matter what device I use

I'm simply stating the universal truism that you need to know your audience if you want to get on with people. You know your audience but don't temper your method of communication, I can only assume that's a desire for conflict on your behalf.

Honestly fella, you are so disingenuous with your analogies and conclusions. I said no such thing, or even close, and you wonder why people find you a difficult individual. If you debate with honesty and integrity, then bring it on. But when you are dishonest like these comments, it just shows a petty and immature nature.

Simply stating that I believe that everyone within the realms of the law should be able to feel free to express themselves anyway they wish without having to “tailor themselves” to the given audience. You wouldn’t tell someone who was gay to tone it down abit now he’s in a straight club. I think everyone on this forum should be able to express their views. You are advocating that certain view points are not welcome which I don’t believe should exist in the 21st century.

I sometimes attempt to remind people that the left wing bubble on here is the reality of the country. But people simply don’t want to listen, think they know best and would rather believe an untruth so it fits their agenda

One day their will be a labour government again. When that day comes are we saying if you don’t support the government of the day you need to tailor your comments to suit. Sounds more like North Korea than a tolerant left wing society

i would have thought that a socialist would show some socalist views ? most if these former labour posters i see on here seem well to the right of any labour party i can remember in the last 35 years.
now corbyn has left you would think they would flock back?

Jees, quit mate, you are digging deeper. Following a political party is a choice, being gay isn't. So no, I wouldn't tell people to be less gay, because it's how they were born. You weren't born a right wing extremist, a series of choices took you down that path, so if you are in company that isn't exclusively right wing, I'll remind you of that. It's just another false analogy in attempt to 'win'. If you haven't noticed yet, you aren't winning.

Regarding bubbles, like I said debate respectfully and I'll engage, come up with false equivalencies and logical loops like you have shown, then I'm not interested.

I'm not left wing, I'm a centrist and believe in holding any government to accountability and avoiding the extremes of left and right, as both are blatantly dangerous for the health and happiness of the citizens. It's pretty much the antithesis of what you are alluding, that if labour get in I'll expect people to support them. Unbelievable the bollox you are typing today

Hey it worked!
Corbyn was not the issue for me the issue was Brexit policy.

This is where labour are falling down. Brexit will be some, Corbyn is gone therefore these voters will just come back. It doesn’t work like that. You have to win these votes back. Disbelieving anyone who told you they switched to Tory and dishing out abuse (some not all) is not the way to do it
