Why the big Crowds this season ?

Crowds are as high as I can remember and bigger than some of our Premier league days and European nights.
30,000 at least for Saturday and sat in 12th place in Championship.
And arguably not playing brilliant either.

Away games are selling like hot cakes.

Neil Bauser has to take credit for the attendances
But I believe is mainly down to the Carrick Factor

Great time to follow the Boro UTB x

We do owe a lot of gratitude to Karanka for the turnaround in our attendances to be honest.

It's crazy to think we were averaging crowds of 13/14k under Strachan and Mowbray. How did it get that bad?

Since our promotion season we haven't really dipped below an average of 20k. Think the only time we might have was when Woodgate was in charge.

There’s a good feeling that the club has been going in the right direction especially since Carrick took over. We may not win every game but generally we’re being entertained and are seeing plenty of goals. The away fans deserve a lot of credit for creating a perceived demand too but I think a huge contributor is the family zone and the pricing for young people in that area. It gets more kids in the ground who then grow up with the habit of going to games. I know a couple of lads who would never have got a season ticket on their own but started taking their kids and have now moved to other areas of the ground as they got a bit older.

Yes, under Karanka the fans fell back in love with the club.

This season 2012/13 we fell apart after Xmas and the attendances got worse!
I remember how everyone was buzzing at the time, because we'd managed to get a crowd of 28k for the Sheff Wed game. Doesn't seem that great in retrospect, when you consider it was a tenner a ticket.

Then I think it was a buy one get one free deal for the Bristol City and Huddersfield games. Again, 20k and 21k were poor crowds.

Remember looking around the ground at kick off, thinking what the _____ Is this it?
Dark days. We had some good young players who joined us and some old hands, but it makes us realise how bad it got
:(
