Why is this man getting released?

It’s more complex than that. People who rape and murder usually do so from trauma early in their life whatever that may be. It distorts what they think is normal. To say these people are beyond rehabilitation is wrong.

the crimes are heinous, and these people should only ever be released into society if the are deemed safe to do so. This should include therapy that is completed, but I doubt these people are given that
There is no complexity IMO in this case.
This man has exposed himself to over 1000 women, sexually assualted numerous others and beat raped and murdered two girls.
I don't care one jot what he was subjected to in his early life. He should stay locked up for the rest of his life.

If one of those victims were related to me I’d be grateful he was getting out . Then Id wait my opportunity and get my hands on him ! 🔨

If you had committed these crimes and you had genuinely reformed and recognise the nature of what you did, would you allow yourself to be released into the population or would you feel that , due to the guilt you would no doubt be carrying ( if truly reformed) that the most appropriate thing would be to remain in prison.

So if he seen his Mam sexually assaulted and beaten up by his dad, no consideration should be given to put this person through therapy and try and rehabilitate them. Btw I don’t think it would work, but it might.

you can tell society has let the bloke down. He exposed himself to 1000 people. Why when this started wasn’t anything intervened by society. This bloke could have been prevented from doing what he did

Thats correct, no consideration should be given to put this person through therapy and try and rehabilitate. He can have all that and stay in prison.
It may be the case that he has suffered as a child, it may be the case that society let the man down (although so what in this case) but what he has done is so evil he has forfeited any form of release IMO.
There are lines to be drawn. FFS he savagly beat, raped and murdered two girls. For me this man crossed that line and deserves nothing no matter what excuse anyone can try and make for what he has done.

You cant rehabilitate this bloke, Id tie him up and chuck him in the river if it was my daughter he had raped, to think this fella who savagely murdered two 15 year olds , can be allowed out to live possibly another 20 years amongst people is the sign of a sick mind.

I`d section whoever thought he could be paroled, its not going to make anything or anybody in society show virtues or be commended for being forgiving.

These people have just put another nail in the hearts of the victims family and friends, I would send anyone who agrees that he should be given the chance because its the law bo llox for treatment.

A couple of points here. Firstly that folk are saying you can't be rehabilitated after such serious crimes. The facts don't support this. For the most serious crimes murder, torture and rape the reoffending rate is less than 1% after release.

Secondly the parole board are not allowed to consider the seriousness of the crime only if the offender is legally allowed to apply for parole and then on evidence based around his incarceration. Finally any victims have an opportunity to speak.

If he has been a model prisoner and is unlikely to reoffend the parole board usually grant parole.

The system isn't perfect and parole boards and their decision making process is keep private, generally. The lack of transparency is a worry.

At the time he was given the maximum sentence I believe and is eligible for parole. At that point it doesn't matter what crime was committed and that cannot be taken into consideration.

Isn't that what law is all about, and we employ people to ensure it is upheld?
CtC is right the law is the law, it seems it's now changed, it cannot be retrospective. Although the law on double jeopardy muddied it.

Just make sure he has to go to a police station every day and his ankle monitor is never taken off.

Just wondering what the murderers supporters on here think is a just sentence for beating raping and murdering two girls?

And don't say 'what the courts decide' I'm asking you.

You need to have a word with yourself calling people murderer supporters

It’s a very complex issue. You can’t just say standard sentencing. I don’t disagree with them getting life. I’m also saying people can be rehabilitated.

these people are usually victims themselves before the become
