I’m warming to Rosenior, we offered him a job once before with Woody remember. Highly rated young coach within the game, would be an interesting appointment.
Corberan would be exciting because his Huddersfield were a good team who overachieved big time. If Gibbo can get over his ‘no foreigners’ thing.
Crucially, they’re both available, so fit our stupid rule of only managers who don’t have a job. And, extenuating circumstances why they left their last jobs. Neither of them failed and were treated a bit unfairly.
They’re both young enough that Gibbo might not butt heads with them. I don’t think he can handle experienced managers who are their own man and stand up for themselves. It went okay-ish with Pulis, who to be honest acted like a caretaker the whole time he was here and was very deferential about not spending “Steve’s” money (even though he spent a ******** of it.)
But Warnock and Wilder are strong characters who won’t be messed around, and both seemingly left under similar clouds when they didn’t get enough control due to the muddle of recruitment. I don’t think Gibbo can work with managers who are that strong-minded, which rules out most of the successful ones - imagine him with a Conte, that would last 5 minutes.
If I was going to appoint a steady Championship manager with experience, I’d go for Chris Hughton. Rob Edwards fills me with dread and fear we might be looking at another Woodgate.
