Who would you pick for Sheff Wed

Depending on injuries, hopefully Bangura just took a knock. What would you go for?

I’d like to see this.

————— Dieng——————
RVB - - Fry - - - Lenihan - Whoever’s fit
———O’Brian - Hackney—————
Jones —— Rogers — McGree—
————— Forss———————

Get Coburn on, give him a whole game. He played for Rovers and scored at Hillsborough last season in a 1-1, they were arguably stronger then than they are now.

Rather have Greenwood than Rogers. Don’t really rate him. Maybe play McGree behind the striker?

Dieng

Den Berg
Fry
Lenihan
Bangura (Engel if there’s an injury)

O’Brien
Hackney

Jones
McGree
Forss

Coburn

Agreed, if he’s not up for it on Tuesday then when will he be up for it. I’d have put my house on him scoring the 1v1 yesturday that Latte lath missed

I honestly don’t think who is in the first XI matters that much anymore as if the players collectively can’t mark a man, apply tactical situations and play as a team then there is no hope.

This is why the main issue lies with the manager and his coaching staff rather than on the likes of the DoF the MD or the owner. Carrick showed last season he could work with what he was given, why the difference now or was he just lucky he had Akpom who wilder had already brought in from the cold and was looking good before his injury and an unknown in Hackney who had been given his chance by Leo alongside a slightly younger and fitter (no preseason) Howson.

Have Lath playing out left and Forss out right, The ball will stick and be held up better for oncoming players, and he's more likely to score his chances. It will be slightly more defensive.

Dijksteel Fry Lenihan Bangura
Crooks Howson OBrien
Jones Forss McGree

Pace down both sides from the fullbacks, creativity from the wingers. Extra man in the middle to try and protect the back 4.

Just while typing that out I swapped back and forth Hows or Hackney, and Forss or Lath.

Prior to signing him, wasn't it mentioned that he has played out wide previously? Not a bad shout that👍

Isaiah Jones and Riley McGree simply must startl. Jones has recently shown signs of getting back to form and McGree is proven in the Championship.
Play O'Brien in the middle of the park.
None of this is rocket science.
Not sure what game Carrick was up to yesterday, but I do know this:
If he wasn't trying to make some sort of point to those upstairs, then it was simply incompetence to play that team and players out of position in key areas.
And this after 2 free weeks to reflect, plan and implement.
Worrying times...

id be happy if we just played the players in their preferred positions so we actually give them a chance of a decent performance.

OBrian was once one of the best central midfielders in this league so lets start there

Would he have got there. Lacks pace but agree if he was there he might of scored.
