Who went to the Zenith Data Systems Cup Final?

Went for the weekend with my wife & big mate & his partner, I remember when we went for a night out & hid my ticket behind a framed picture on the wall, as safety, the problem been I couldn't get the ticket out the following morning & started panicking, eventually the ticket came out, phew

Only one person I was going to sit next to & that with was my dad, he 1st took me & my younger brother to the Boro games late 71, sat next to my dad at AP so had to sit next to him at wembley, a ground I never thought I woukd see my team ply a final
My dad made his way down on the morning of the game

Went with my old man and 2 brothers, I was living in Aberdeen at the time, met them all on Wembley way, we always said if we got to Wembley we would all go.......great day out but not the best of games, always remember my old man saying take it all in son we might not be back.......

If only he'd known that we had far more Wembley pain to come...

I was there, 11 years old at the time and was sat right up in the gods behind the goal where Dorigo hit the winner.

Never mind the game though, what about the queue for tickets beforehand! I seem to remember we started by the allotments at the bottom of Acklam Road, god knows what time we started queueing or how long it took to get to the front, too long ago for me to think back now. It was the middle of the night when we set off to join it, I was clutching my precious ticket stub that I needed to get myself a Wembley ticket and wasn't letting go of it.

Yeah, slept on the pavement all night for a West Ham ticket..😀....we went for the weekend, went to Trafalgar Square the night before, there was a fair gathering of Boro fans, nowhere near as many as the subsequent finals though.

Yep, me & mate were there too
Still got my photos of the night 👍

I was there, I drove down with my dad and a neighbour. The only time I drove for a final. The half time incident with the Chelsea fans was an experience. 👊

Horrible drive home, a long day, no win, no beer, no smile, no conversation, just tears. My dad’s one and only trip to see Boro in a Wembley final, as ill health put paid to the others for him. Shame they could not beat them, but it was the start of the Boro Wembley curse. Never missed one yet, maybe I am a Jonah with Boro at Wembley as when I went to Wembley with Scarborough they won 3 out of 4 FA Trophy finals. I do have a 100% record in Cardiff though.
