I was 2 at the time.... so I know nothing about this competition

Correct me, if i'm wrong - but from what I have managed to piece together it was a new competition because English clubs were banned from Europe due to the 1985 Heysel Stadium disaster

I was 22 and I went with my fiance, now my wife.
Bruce had been sacked weeks earlier.
Mogga was injured but was given the honour of leading the team out.

Football-wise I don't remember much about the final but the semi-finals against Villa were amazing.

Yep still got the flag as well

Yes it was a filler as five years we were banned

So the likes of Wimbledon oxford Norwich etc deprived their big day out

I was there nearly wasn’t though clocks went back that weekend & I thought I could make a weekend on the sauce of it well ended up missing the bus😬
Got my dad to give me a lift to the a1 thumbed a lift to scotch corner. Spotted a car parked up with a boro scarf hanging out the window cheeky begger me asked if they had a spare seat lucky for me they did got a lift all the way to wembley. Best thing was I got there before the bus I was stood on wembley way waving as they drove past their faces when they saw me was a picture 🤣

only downside I really hadn’t budgeted for wembley prices spent nearly a tenner on a sausage roll & a cup of soup while I was eating it the Chelsea fans decided to start I wasted my sausage roll & soup because I had to drop them to lamp a daft daft Chelsea fan who came running at me.
So pleased the 2 sat either side of me had big coats on when it snowed I only had a boro top & jeans on 🥶

but first time ever at wembley shame about the result 😞

It was a terrible game. Apart from Davenports few forays down the left second half we hardly got into the game. A massive anticlimax

Won by A Tony Dorigo freekick

Yes I was there, in line with the free kick, it was in from the moment the ball left his foot.
The first of a few miserable drives home but not as bad as the Leicester game, for me that was a killer, couldn't get over that for ages, years...

But the rendition you’ll never work alone at the end.. was spine tingling
Yeah I was there with my Dad and Mates.
I remember it hailstoning along Wembley Way.
The night before in Trafalgar Square was Magical.I spoke to an old copper, who said he’d never seen any like the Boro fans.
But of all the disappointments, that Leicester Final took the biscuit, absolutely gutted.

Went with my old man and 2 brothers, I was living in Aberdeen at the time, met them all on Wembley way, we always said if we got to Wembley we would all go.......great day out but not the best of games, always remember my old man saying take it all in son we might not be back.......

I was there. Travelled there and back in a Transit single decker bus, not a coach, so the seats were like park benches. Sat under a hole in the stadium roof. Not a great day.

I was there, after attending every match in the cup run that season.

Dreadful game of football. Utterly deflated as Sir Bruce wasn't there after he was sacked. Felt inevitable.

Duncan Wood filmed inside our coach as we set off from AP on the morning for ITV news. What an absolute knob that bloke is. :D
