Who was the last striker to emerge from our academy ?

Andrew Burton - mid-to-late 1990s - remember him scoring a few hat-tricks at youth level - i don't think we 'took him on'

When i had my trial at MFC - the scouts / academy team, only seemed interested in midfield and defence

I was playing left-centre half, so I have no excuses....:cry::cry::ROFLMAO::LOL:

Tom Craddock came through the youth team I think. Went on to play for Oxford and Portsmouth. Seem to remember one game, maybe a cup game, when we started Craddock and Hutchinson up front together.

Charlie Wykd was the one I really thought was going to make it for us. I watch a lot of U23 games and remember one especially against Chelsea U23 where he stood out head and shoulders above everyone else

Don't write-off Ste Walker yet.. he has the ability but has been warned multiple times for off the field behaviour. Another Lee Cattermole.

Tyronne O'Neill looked the real deal for me at Darlo last year. Good hold up play, skilful and a decent finisher. Not sure he's a Warnock type though as he's lanky type rather than a battering ram.

David Currie was prolific away from the Boro and also scored some crackers for us, but is forever remembered for 'that miss' against Carlisleremember2.jpg

He wasn’t prolific for Cloughie 😄

Looking the real deal at Darlington in National League North is far removed Leagues 1 and 2 never mind the Championship. We can't expect them to suddenly be good enough for this league, they need further time on loan at clubs further down the pyramid.

How many PL clubs have a first choice number 9 that came through the academy? Tottenham the only one I can think of, maybe Man Utd with Rashford/Greenwood but they play across the attack.
