Who is a viable candidate for PM?

Need someone who has not been tainted over the past 3 years with the corruption, sleaze and been a part of the sh*tshow of a cabinet in any form. Not a Bozo fanboy/girl and offers a degree of honesty (I know, we are talking about Tories....) and at least an outward degree of integrity.

Hunt has been extremely quiet, would fit the bill for a new clean start......🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

Next problem is forming a good, honest (😳😳) cabinet with ministers who actually listen and know what they are doing. Could see a lot of junior/up and coming ministers promoted.
Just done a Venn diagram of all Tories to see if I can find a candidate. Here it is (magnified a million times so you can see the result)

.

I felt Truss was being lined up by the newspapers 6 months ago. Was getting a lot of front page coverage and I noted a lot of the older folk that cross my path talking about her. She has since been disappeared, with Johnson fronting all the Ukraine activities.

Hunt was Health Secretary when a lot of the more harsh measures and austerity was implemented, then was quietly taken out the lime light after the junior Drs strikes and given a comfortable number. I think the PPE reduction and failure to act on pandemic responses was on his watch too. I forget the scenario that was ran at the time, but the findings and learnings were dismissed.

Hunt certainly seems more statesman like, but I feel his past record is tainted to me.

Seems like Steve Baker might chuck his cap in.

Brexit Hardman Steve Baker. A right wing Christian. Against same sex marriage, against abortion, against the Human Rights Act.

His voting record is quite sickening really. The Tories will lap that up.

Maybe Raab does need protections for abortion in his Bill of Rights after all.

And that, right there, is the problem.

We will sleepwalk into Bozo #2 unless the Tories f*cking wake up and finally realise what an absolute f*cking mess he and his thick as chuff cabal have left the country in.

I have zero faith in the Tories getting this call right and can see the party consumed with an internal civil war, oblivious to the country outside rapidly going down the U-bend. Best candidate = best for them / best for the rich.

Yeah, we can celebrate, have a beer, eat a bit of cake.......but come the autumn we will be back to it - all empty promises, hot air and cheeky soundbites.

Depressing times ahead.☹️☹️

I think it will be Penny Mordaunt, seen as a break from Boris Johnson's leadership. Sajid Javid and Rishi Sunak might be seen as too close to that for now.

Sajid Javid feels a bit like a Gordon Brown type appointment, like he probably should get it it and maybe deserves it.. but whether the public will take to him remains to be seen. If Rishi Sunak can distance himself from BJ and any other controversies he might be worth while. Penny Mordaunt is not heavily into the current regime so may be immune from criticism to some extent.

I could live with Penny. But she's a front runner according to the bookies so has no chance.

Not really as they will be sitting ducks at the polls.

Wether we liked it or not boris the personality polled well he won seats for them that’s a fact.

Without him they are just the nasty party again

Part of me looks at the dearth of candidates worried that we'll end up with another incompetent disaster.

But with the same eyes, at least it means they can't choose the worst possible candidate, because there isn't one.

I’ve got the perfect man

Experience in high profile jobs held two offices of state.
