Should Johnson go, who would be a viable candidate to succeed him from the Conservatives?

Serious question, please refrain from the t*t for tat jibes.

Sajid without a doubt.

The rest have question marks and at the mo seen reluctant to leave the sinking ship.

Others would be from the shadows morduant etc.

It’s a good question though as boris unlike others has surrounded himself by lesser lights to make himself look good.

Gone is the idea that you need experienced professional veterans of govt. like major Blair even Cameron had the likes of Clarke rifkind etc.

Instead it’s novices and weak minded idiots like dorries.

Like him or loathe him, Boris Johnson unlocked votes that no other Tory leader has managed, to get his majority.

No other current Tory MP will be able to do the same, those votes will likely melt away as the only reason they voted was because of Johnson.

Whoever does win will inherit an absolute mess that will not be cleaned up by the time they are forced into a GE.

Yep, great isn't it !

I'm up for it. They turned me down again when I applied to be the next Boro manager. They gave it to Wilder instead. I'm still quite bitter about that. I do have other responsibilities but I could run the country in my spare time. I can delegate. Fill my cabinet with the rest of the bum faced lads. We'd do a great job. Starmer is a Tory so there'd be no point in replacing one turd with another. I'll even donate my salary to charity. Vote for bumface. You know it makes sense.

Sadly...

This has aged incredibly well hasn't it ?

When you have had the worst Prime Minister in history I'm hopeful that whoever takes over will be an improvement and will bring some competency, organisation, honesty and integrity to the role.

When Javid resigned as Chancellor I thought at the time he was putting himself into a strong position as Johnson's eventual successor by distancing himself from the predictable mess that Johnson was sure to bring, by being the first to quit and that others have followed will be projected as leadership. I don't like his politics but he would be a massive upgrade on Johnson.
