Over the last 5 seasons we have averaged 1.8 ppg
I'll settle for that if it's a slump (y)

I've put as down for 3-4, but with a good start, luck with injuries and a strong wind behind us we could finish top two.
I worded that wrongly (blame the beer fog from last night), i was meaning the slum we endured from mid jan to around march last season. the annual one is just something that always remains in memory after the robson years :ROFLMAO:

FourFourTwo's annual prediction is out:

1. Leeds
2. Burnley
-------------------
3. Luton
4. Boro
5. Coventry
6. West Brom

Generally in line with what we see here. Think both Sheffield teams will have decent seasons (blades not as poor as everyone is making out). Norwich, Hull both in with a shout imo too.

Not sure I'd have Cov finishing fourth.

I think it could be a season where the top 2 picks itself and almost every other team is battling for top 6.

Coventry are a brilliant team who are improving every season. I could see them battling with us for the title.

I could also see Sheffield United going down again.

Cov/Boro 1-2 must be quite the odds!

Must admit they dealt with departures well last season and are clearly doing something right. Bit of a Luton lite imo, they're a limited technical side but few sides can beat them.

I personally think they're at the upper limit of their potential and they're more likely to drop down the table than go up.

Coventry will start with a 3/6pt lead on us too as we always lose at least 1 game against them and we rarely beat them.

Definitely a bogey team of ours, of late.

Top 4 hopefully not so sure about Burnley this year don't think they will be top 2 and think Shef Utd will probably do better than many are predicting, Leeds for the title unfortunately

I recall Kieran Scott saying that we were targetting quality players, but then we signed Ayling, Burgzorg, Morris. Ayling has clearly proven himself, but Burgzorg and Morris are speculative signings who may or may not prove to be of sufficient quality. I suspect Morris might grow into the season but fear Burgzorg may be trouble if not getting his way.

I selected a hopeful 5th or 6th finish, providing injuries don’t strike like last season. but in truth it depends on trust that we will sign a decent enough striker to challenge Mannu, a left back to go straight in over Engel (I had high hopes for Bangura but he looks out for much of the season) and cover for Ayling as Smith may not come back from his injury, many don’t to the level needed. If we don’t do that then I think we will finish around 7h or 8th

I don't think the competition is anywhere near as strong as last season. It's been a funny transfer window thus far, in that not many champo teams have signed many players, certainly for half decent fees. We must be one of the top spenders along with Stoke. Don't see why we can't challenge for the automatic places, as long as we get off to a strong start. Be great if we can win say 7 or 8 of our first ten games. Here's hoping!!

With current squad, around 7th/8th.
I got it bang on last season, but I expect more incoming and with a better injury record (fingers crossed), squad more settled etc, the incomings might just give us a real opportunity this coming season.

I'm hoping automatic. Carrick showed he is a great man manager in his first season the way he brought players on, and didn't panic last season when we had two awful runs. His calm style and attacking method deserves a run of luck. Consistency is the main worry. Our style does invite mistakes and teams will look to press us and nick soft goals. If we get a good start and teams start to fear us, then there's no reason we can't stay up there all season, provided injuries don't kill us again. We could also do with more quality in full back areas, especially as it looks as if Bangura is out for a long time.

If that's the case then last year's team massively overachieved to give them credit, considering that for the majority of the season we had over half the side out injured. In what is generally regarded as a stronger season for the Championship too👍

Will we get some one else in to compete with latte ? That can be the difference to getting in top 2 and Conway may not be that difference.

Right now I've gone 8th-10th but if we bring in 2 quality signings then we could push for the playoffs. My hope is we have a decent start and not be giving teams a massive head start.
