Bristol City is an example of a club who have made little progress on the field, but lots of progress off it.I meant by the Bristol comparison. I agree he needs to invest better and get help.
People could be tempted to buy Bristol City. Big place, decent fanbase and lots of potential, just like us. No real history or reputation, unlike us.
Their financial status is however light years better, because their owner has invested equity in the club, rather than just financing it with loans. They have actually given the money to the club, not loaned it. They are solvent/have book value and market value. A buyer would be buying a genuine going concern with potential; because their owner has invested.
Now they have subsequently spent and not gained promotion, so they have not been successful on the pitch, just like us, but their owner has effectively spent this.
That is why I mentioned them.
Gibson doesn't invest, he offsets debt within his Group. So he needs to start investing before we say "he needs to invest better".
He does need to "get help", but it needs to be expert help and it needs to be empowered.
